Good comfortable accomodation - Very clean and with friendly and helpful staff. The food was excellent both in the restaurant in the evening and also at breakfast, where the Full Scottish was spot on. They were also very accommodating when we had to move our stay by one day due to our ferry being cancelled.

The room was very hot which made it difficult to sleep, but I think this was probably due to the extreme heatwave and unlikely the norm there!

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate our daughter at mealtimes in the restaurant (she has several food allergies ). We really enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant. The room was dark and quiet after lights out which was what we needed!

Our bathroom was a fully enclosed, internal room, with no window which is quite common, but there was no extract fan either, which meant getting rid of toilet odours was not so easy, as with shower steams too.

Really helpful staff- nothing was too much trouble. We parked our car right in front of the hotel- hard to beat for convenience! Breakfast was generous and a great menu, hard to fault. The overriding impression is that staff took their jobs seriously and they felt it was important to do the best they can in their work- what a lovely ethic to have. Very comfortable bed and a useful work desk with plenty of power points.

    Hotel in Good Harbourside Location

Breakfast room at back of hotel was dark, dingy and looked a bit shabby. Breakfast was OK but coffee was awful being in a canteen style thermos flask. Tea wasn't much better, so neither were fresh unless you were very early I suspect. Had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good! However the service was lacklustre and the atmosphere was completely lacking. A bit a background music would have been nice.

Wonderful views overlooking scenic harbour from bedroom, which was small but very clean and comfortable. Great location within a short walk of good restaurants and shops etc. Parking directly outside hotel on harbourside was good, you could always get a space.

As a motorcyclist I use the BSB method of judging quality. Bed, shower, breakfast. Didn’t disappoint. Staff helpful and attentive. Bit pricey but if you want to stay in Tarbert it’s the price you pay.

The bathroom was quite dated and the towel radiator was rusty, i suspect because the bathroom didn't have a fan.

The hotel is well located in the middle of Tarbert. the break options are excellent, with attentive staff. The hotel also has a resteraunt and bar offering excellent food at good value. The check in was easy and they let us get into our room quite early. this was a very enjoyable stay.

    Breakfast

Location was excellent for us, room was good in that we had booked a normal double and were allocated one with a sea view. Thanks However we often use Premier Inns and room not as good as that and a lot dearer. However Tarbert seems to generally be expensive for the quality of accomodation on offer so maybe value for Tarbert.Carpet in bedroom was a pain carpet with no pattern so marks very visible and shower sealant needs replaced, looking a bit black. Breakfast service was nice pleasant staff but for us the Scottish breakfast was too much of a fry up than being slightly healthier and grilling where possible.Bacon would appear to have been in deep fat fryer until it was like leather.Opted for poached egg the following day, a better choice.

Hotel clearly starts showing signs of time and needs some care. Electric shower. Restaurant food was hit and miss, the burger arrived literally as patty on a bun.

The hotel was short staffed, so the owner was rushing around doing everything, especially when we had our evening meal. This meant it wasn't a very relaxing experience (although I did feel sorry for him!). The basin in our shower room had a big crack in it.

Smooth check in, comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities. Great location, right on the seafront. Very reasonable price.
