Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWas in a room right at the top of the building, so many stairs and no lift, didn't see anything about that!
Lovely beautiful building, an ideal position for VictoriaStation, friendly staff, didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that.

Czech RepublicI liked almost everything, an exception is that the double bed should ideally have two quilts instead of one (but this is probably usual almost everywhere in UK hotels (Italy, Spain, too). Unusual in Central Europe and it would be good to have an option to choose one or two quilts.
Central London location, very quiet neighbourhood, few people on the streets, bus station to the best London places about 8 minutes walk, very clean, helpful staff, everything better than expected.

United KingdomWe could not locate a lift, so our room was up several flights of stairs which did not worry us at all but could be an issue for those who may not be good with stairs
Room was clean, had a good shower and had everything we needed for our one night stay

United KingdomNo lift means you have to cart your luggage up many flights of stairs. The floor boards creaked so would make a noise if you get up in the middle of the night.
Great location, reasonably close to Victoria bus and train stations. 7 min walk. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. I liked the outlook from my room. On the third floor. The large windows could be opened wide to let the evening breeze in.

IrelandOur card for the room stopped working every time we left which made us have to get it reset every time we left as we were stuck outside our room at one point but staff were very helpful. We were on the fourth floor with 8 sets of stairs to walk up as no elevator so be careful if you wouldn’t be able for that. Also, the plugs in the room would not work most of the time.
Staff were very friendly and helpful with any issues. Great locations just a 10 min walk to the tube. Clean room . Stored luggage after checkout for us. Very safe location with cute shops around. They also have room service.

CanadaOur assigned room was on a lower level below the entrance room and desk, and as the case in North America felt like going down to a basement. It would have been good to know that such hotels in old Victorian buildings do have lower level rooms.
Room was well organized with its own safe, a comfy bed with modern bathroom (rain shower). Quiet room and AC worked great and also ran quiet. Problem with television (no signal) was immediately addressed by staff. Hotel is ideally situated for walking excursions around the London. Close to a nearby stop for the Thames River Uber Boats by Clipper. Lots of great restaurants also nearby.

United KingdomThere is a charge for leaving luggage at the property beyond 6pm on the day you check out. This is £5 per item. Breakfast wasn't the best. Simple hotel breakfast (cereal, milk, lukewarm croissants etc) for £7.50 a head. On our stay the coffee machine was broken, but this was compensated by halving the cost. Overall property is good (excellent for the price and location) but nothing too much standout.
Great location, 5-10 mins walk from Victoria and 20 from Buckingham Palace. Check in was smooth, staff helpful, even accommodated a request for a lower floor room for accessibility (no lift in property). Room was somewhat cramped for 4 people but was well laid out, clean, and stocked well.

United StatesMy primary complaints about the room was that the bathroom was so small you couldn't actually sit on the toilet, kind of had to angle yourself. Other than that I had no complaints and I would consider staying here again.
The room was very very small, but it was cute and comfortable. The hotel was more affordable than just about anywhere else in London. Staff at the front desk was happy to take my bags when we checked in much earlier than our room was ready. The hotel was located near the central train station in London, about a 10 minute walk from it, so quite convenient for getting around London. There was air conditioning in the room which was nice given that we were in London on some very warm days. There is a restaurant called Cambridge Street just around the corner from the hotel. They advertise is having the best English breakfast in London, and I don't disagree it was fantastic! If you stay at 29 london, I highly recommend visiting that restaurant.
