The room was lovely, clean and had everything we needed, the setting and views were gorgeous. Our host was really welcoming and went above and beyond as we booked quite short notice! Would definitely recommend a stay here!

    Nothing.

A perfect location for a mini-break. Set back off the road with wonderful views over the Dee valley. Lyndsey was very friendly and went out of her way to accommodate our particular requirements. Superb breakfast. Evening meals are not provided, but The Thistle Inn does great food Thursday-Sunday and is 20 minutes walk away, and Castle Douglas is just 15 mins drive. They also have a microwave and fridge if you want to heat your own meals.

Tasty breakfast and a rural and scenic location. The room was large with a great view across the countryside. Though we didn't use it, we thought the addition of a small fridge in the room was a nice extra.

My old mum’s room had quite a few steps in it - but we did give her the option to swop with the other room we’d booked. Says more about my mum!

Lindsey was incredibly flexible and kind in terms of our arrival time - made a big difference on a stressful day. Breakfast was great and the setting was everything I’d hoped for and more. I’ll be back!

Slightly outdated and rooms could use a little TLC. This, along with the location slightly out of the way, made it seem a little overpriced. Sauna and facilities were available for a charge which wasn't clear when we booked.

Cool location with beautiful scenery. Friendly owner with great communication. Cooked breakfast in the morning was superb! Bed and pillows comfy enough.

    It went to quickly!

Lovely countryside location with beautiful views and many nearby spots for paddle boarding, canoeing and generally exploring the area while close enough to local shopping facilities in Castle Douglas to make a longer stay like mine super comfortable. Good free Wi-Fi. Although staying B&B my hosts Lindsey and Jimmy provided extra facilities so I could easily prepare meals whenever I desired. Juicy very tasty local sausages. Good Coffee!

Great location. Long track to farm away from main road. Wonderful views. Night sky was crystal clear. Very peaceful and relaxing. Picturesque frosted landscape in the morning. Loch ken within a stones throw. Galloway forest a short drive for walks or mountain biking. Castle Douglas 10 min drive for all your shopping needs and cafe's .Thistle inn at Crossmicheal for food and drinks recommended only a minute from leaving the farm track on main road.👍

    Having to say goodbye.

The farmhouse is in a beautiful setting. it's not every day you get a welcoming committee from an adorable herd of cows. We were given a lovely greeting from Lynsay, the owner, who explained clearly everything we needed to know about our stay. Our bedroom was lovely and equipped with everything we required for a 4 night stay. Breakfast was one of the highlights of our day... totally scrumptious. The choice catered for every taste. The view whilst we ate was the cherry on the cake overlooking the fields and Loch Kenn! After a full day of sightseeing, we relaxed in the cosy conservatory, which had lots of local reading matter to plan our adventures for the next day. The ambiance of the room with its table top fire. side lamps and big comfy sofas just added to the home from home experience. We were fortunate enough to witness a wonderful clear dark sky highlighting all the stars in the universe..... simply stunning!. In conclusion, we had a fabulous stay. There is plenty to do and see, and at the end of the day.....a comfortable night's sleep! Lynsay and her beautiful dog Cruze were a total delight. We definitely will be rebooking.
