This was a perfect stopover en route north. The hosts Karen and David were extremely hospitable. The facilities were wonderful with 3 rooms in the attic apartment. Breakfast left in the fridge was a bonus. Everything had been thought about for all the ‘little extras’ . The Italian restaurant Claudios (kindly booked for us by David) was lovely. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

Honestly, nothing.

The breakfast items were generous and delicious; the rooms comfortable and spacious. Everything we might have needed had been thought of and provided by Karen and David who are the most welcoming, kind and friendly hosts. A short twilight walk to see the local badgers was an unexpected bonus.

A lovely warm welcome from the fantastic hosts was the best possible start. Having a separate living room was a bonus and a separate bathroom was surprisingly relaxing.

Great location for exploring the area. House was beautifully decorated and furnished, warm, comfortable and every need catered for. Welcome pack far exceeded the norm. Very clean.

That it was so good we were disappointed with our next location in Edinburgh. We should have stayed another night.

We loved everything! Such generous sized rooms, super clean and comfortable. Karen has thought of everything and nothing was too much trouble. We absolutely loved our stay.

Nothing needs changing, everything was perfect, both the property and the hosts.

Beautiful presentation, with all needs having been thought of in advance by Karen & David. Amazing space with access to two large rooms and our own bathroom. Breakfast things available, making for a very relaxed start to the day. Our welcome after a long, delayed drive from the Highlands, was wonderful, with an opportunity to wind down before taking Karen’s recommendations of places to eat in Moffat.

Everything! The room is gorgeous, exactly as pictured. Huge comfy bed and massive lovely bathroom. What we loved best were all the small details - wonderfully stocked fridge for breakfast, bathroom drawers full of all the toiletries we could possibly need, even straighteners and a curler! Not to mention the lovely hosts who greeted us with a drink/snacks and were so kind and welcoming throughout our stay. We can’t wait to come back again, highly recommended to all!

Nothing to write here - it was an outstanding place to stay.

This was an exceptional place to stay. Dave and Karen were wonderful hosts and greeted us after a long journey with much needed refreshments. The apartment was wonderful - tastefully decorated with many extra touches that made our stay a memorable one. We travelled with our dog and there was a dog bed made up for her, along with a a jar of treats.

Lovely location with great facilities. We had the attic apartment and we were very satisfied with our accommodation covering three rooms….bedroom, bathroom and a sitting room with a comfortable sofa and television.

Rachel and I loved the styling of the property and the attention to detail was second to none. The rooms were immaculate and it was great to have separate living and bedroom areas. Welcome drinks on arrival was a lovely touch as was the thought that had gone into each of the miscellaneous items that had been provided should we have forgotten anything.

We have just had the best 3 night stay at Warriston Lodge and we're already planning when to go back! Karen and David were the perfect hosts, so welcoming and relaxed. We got greeted with drinks by David and Karen even wrote us a list of the best walks and beautiful spots to visit (of which there are plenty!). The perfect distance from Moffat, you can walk in for dinner and drinks and still be far enough out that the house and garden is so quiet and peaceful. The bed was so comfortable and the bath was incredible - we've never stayed in a place where so many little details were thought about and provided. We can't recommend this stay enough. The accommodation was outstanding: enormous room with a fridge full of snacks and the bathroom and stand alone bath was stunning. The whole place was decorated to a high standard, very tasteful yet warm and welcoming. From drinks on arrival to leaving, we were treated so warmly, we didn't want to leave!! I can't speak highly enough of our experience, simply the best!!

Karen & David came out to welcome us on arrival & help carry our bags up to the attic room(s). We had our own bedroom, bathroom & lounge with fridge & food preparing area. We were offered a choice of drinks + treats for Rosie our dog. Lovely & large old house with lots of character.
