Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe fact that you dont have your own keys while you're there. If my phone had died while I was out at work, or I didn't write the lockbox code down, then it would have been trouble getting into the property. Apart from this the property met my expectations.
Excellent location right in city centre. Good facilities and plenty of bathrooms in the house as well so you never have to wait if theres some one in one you can use another. Handy place if you're working away from home for a short stay. Very affordable cost.

The room was comfortable. I like the idea of having your own crockery and cutlery for the room.

United KingdomI didn't like the bathroom very much. It was clean but I'm not a fan of shower curtains and there were 2, one for the window and one for the door. There was also no soap at the sink.
Rooms were nicely made up. Rooms were clean. Bedding and towels were good.

United KingdomA little noisy outside but brought ear plugs and the beds were comfortable, so slept well. Felt like a shared house but was all clean so didn't mind.
Lovely clean rooms and comfortable beds. Large room. Use of fridge/freezer and kitchen appliances. Two nearby bathrooms. Prompt and courteous communication. Excellent parking and convenient for town centre, cinema and retail park and supermarket. Great value.

United KingdomWe got a message to ask us to change rooms as another guest needed disabled access but this meant we had a smaller room and no loo on same floor etc. This should have been a cheaper room. It was described as having seating area, outside and indoor play areas and outdoor furniture. Also said free toiletries (there was free loo roll). We had 3 hand towels for 4 of us and not any soap in the shared toilets - one of which was off the kitchen. No tea-towels in kitchen nor oven gloves. Also said there were tea-making facilities in each unit… there was a kettle in the kitchen and not enough mugs/ cups for all of us to have a cup of tea together snd we’d have to take turns to sit on the only 2 bar stools we could find to sit on. It was clean but very basic with shared facilities but description implied there’d be a lot of facilities that just weren’t there albeit they may have been present in the ‘holiday home’ room that we booked but got swapped to a basic small double bedroom instead - but paid the full price.
It was good location with parking in central town. Quiet area near the church. Beds were comfy. It was clean and people were friendly. It’s shared kitchen and bathrooms which were both on lower floor. It was easy to check in and instructions were good for this.

United KingdomI couldn't get an ensuite room and I hope to get this next time.
An amazing host who gave me a warm welcome, a pleasant, secure and moderately convenient environment to stay with good parking for car owners as well as Electric car charging facility. It's very very close to the city center and all the main necessities; bus station, shopping centre and nearest gym. I had a wonderful stay. I'll absolutely choose it again and again. Good value for money.

United KingdomThere was a child that constantly ran around the house shouting and an adult shouting loudly at said child all day. These people live in the house and I can see it's been an issue for a long while. Even after messaging the owner nothing changed. I was in room 3 which is next to the bathroom that the family use. People very loud when using it. And having to listen to someone all day and night constantly bringing uo their phlemb and clearing their throat was not the one. The bathroom was not clean. Multiple hairs and dirty marks over the floor and even on Reporting to the owner was still.not cleaned despite them saying in their description that it is cleaned daily. It definitely is not. The bed very uncomfortable. The mattress was to big for the base so constantly felt like u were falling out and laying at a funny angle caused back pain. Such a shame first time I stayed here was so much better than this time.
The house was close to my work so not much of a.commute. the owner quick to reply.

South AfricaThe cleanliness of the room was not so good. Dirt and bits were still on the carpets and the surfaces not wiped well enough. The Shared bathroom felt dirty and it was untidy unfortunately. The ceiling light remained dimly lit when switching it off and couldn't go reasonably dark. The door wasn't soundproofed at all.
The Location was great with an easy to walk to and around the town center. The Parking was good. The towels were fresh and clean. Access information and correspondence was clear and easy to manage.

United KingdomI mentioned everything above.
The room itself was okay and the bed was very comfortable. But the room needed to have more niceties such as a sink in which to wash and shave in the morning which would also supply the water for the absent kettle which would help immensely in the brewing of a pot of tea, also absent. A small fridge would be perfect to keep the milk cold that I had to bring along myself for my breakfast in the morning and for my tea. The kitchen was downstairs from my room and the surfaces weren't the cleanest that I had seen. Back to my room where the very small bedside table was so wobbly that it was almost falling apart, and the small table that was supposedly fixed to the wall was almost hanging off. The best bit though was what I experienced outside. I had come to Aylesbury to visit the beautiful Waterside Theatre and discovered that it and Wetherspoons were just a few minutes walk away. Fantastic.
