Gorgeous view, comfortable bed. Impeccably tidy! Susan and Robert were amazing hosts. So friendly and helpful. We even got a lift to and from dinner on Saturday night which was so kind. Susan’s breakfast basket was delicious. We would love to come back again.

A Barn is a beautiful, light airy conversion with tasteful decoration and fabulous uninterrupted rural views over the valley. We really enjoyed watching the incredible array of birds and wildlife visiting the garden. But the best ever is the warm welcome and incredible service from Susan - the host. The care over the breakfast and on one day our request for a picnic breakfast could not have been better. Made us feel very at home indeed.

Fantastic location, we were able to park up and not use our car again until we left. We were also lucky enough to have the Barn to ourselves which was a treat and we made the most of the living and outdoor space. Plenty of activities to keep you occupied but also it was just lovely to stop and take in the views.

For those who don’t drive, houghton is cosy and tranquil, but also well-connected to other attractions by train or by walk. We had a relaxing weekend away from busy cities and enjoyed a lot of fun activities. The food around was unexpectedly good too. The Barn itself has a beautiful view, and the room was super comfortable to stay in. Everything was right in place and thoughtfully arranged. Susan and Robert were wonderful hosts who made our stay most memorable.

A beautifully converted barn making very comfortable accommodation. Lovely views of the Downs from the rooms. Everything is in place to make your stay enjoyable. The host is very friendly and she provides a lovely breakfast delivered to your room.

Everything here exceeded expectations. The room is better than it looks in the pictures, and the host was absolutely fantastic at making our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. The host went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible

Susan and Robert have welcomed us and were super nice and friendly. They gave us all the info we needed regarding the room and the area. The room is spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped with everything one can think of. Susan puts attention to the smallest, and her home.made breakfast is the best we had. The view from the room is breathtaking! Cant wait to come back.

Beautiful spacious barn with attention on every detail. Our room was large and bright with everything we could possibly need. The amazing breakfasts delivered every morning were a real treat. We are sad to leave but grateful we’ve had the chance to stay in such a wonderful place.

Not the property but the access road from main road is very narrow and steep so one worries a bit about meeting another car, but actually in 9 or so trips we never did have a problem!

Clearly thought a lot about what they wanted to provide and I can’t see a negative

Fab location for triathlon training and if you’re used to a country home / farm this is epic. Loved playing with the dog, Chatting with the owners and the runs around the South Downs way.. Good pubs and restaurants close by and c 2:30 from Cambridge and 90 mins from london Breakfast are fabulous!

Hand rail in the shower would of been helpful for those not so steady on there feet.

I hadn't fully appreciated we were sharing the property with occupants of the other rooms. But it didn't prove to be an issue because our respective rooms were large and self contained and our paths never crossed.

The breakfast basket was a novel and enjoyable way to have breakfast in the room. The host was very attentive and ensured we were furnished with all information regaining the South Downs and what was available locally.

What was not to like. The trip was everything and more. Thank you for going above and beyond for us. We had the entire barn to ourselves so had plenty of space to relax and pretend it was ours for a few days. Breakfast outside was lovely, watching nature go by, playing chess and getting cosy in the mezzanine. We had the most perfect, relaxing trip away.
