Very noisy doors in the hotel

The breakfast area wasn’t our taste so we decided to grab breakfast nearby. Highly recommend the Haymarket Cafe.

Location was good,close to the Haymarket Station and also the tram stop. It was booked last minute as we had made a late decision to attend Edinburgh Fringe and most accommodation was already booked up.

The only complaint was they had plug-in glade diffusers that Im allergic to and found very over welming, but when I asked staff, they removed them,.

Love, clean hotel close to lots of amenities. Lovely decor in bar area.

Bed sheets had an old smell to them, soaps/shower gels and the tea/coffee offerings were a little lacking and basic. Pillows not particularly comfy.

We couldn’t figure out how to turn off the radiator in the room (and we didn’t ask)

We had the impression of a little bit of improvisation and lack of experience. When we checked out we left our luggage and were assured that it would be safely put away and we agreed on the time to pick it up. When we arrived at the property all doors were wide open, some delivery/laundry (?) people were charging something from the hotel. In the meanwhile our luggage is stood in the open entrance zone without anybody watching. We walked in, called and waited for the manager or receptionist. No one showed up. After five minutes we took our suitcases and just left. It could have been taken by any random thief passing by … and this is something we found unacceptable. We did not even receive a phone call to confirm that it was really us picking up our suitcases … The night before the property called us on the phone after we had already received the booking.com confirmation by email. We didn’t understand why it was necessary to call us to confirm a confirmed reservation and it was not necessary to call us, when our suitcases had disappeared from the entrance.

Freshly renovated, well situated. Very friendly people. Seems to be family run.

A little loud if you face the street with cars driving by. A little hot in the summer, but overall enjoyable.

The location was great, within walking distance to centre but if you want to save your steps the hotel is near the Haymarket station to the rail, tram, and buses. The room was clean and comfortable along with the bed. We appreciated the small fridge and water with refills each day. Staff was nice and accommodating.

Our room was lovely, but there were no curtains or blinds, therefore, not much privacy. There were the old wooden shutters, which we did use at bedtime, but it was not convenient during the day. No daylight. The bar was not in use, which was a bit disappointing, as it was a lovely room.

Liked the hotel, the young man who did everything for us, the location and the cleanliness.

Photos are a little deceiving of the size of the hotel but all in all a nice hotel. Very expensive for what you get but that’s Edinburgh for you.

Great location, we booked a small double which was ok and the shower was amazing. Room was really clean other than a few dead spiders on the wall.

The room and hotel was tiny BUT the window was big and it overlooked a garden and you can hear birds! Staff were very nice and accommodating. Location was close the tram/bus/train stops.

The work at the front desk was lovely! After a day of train delays and getting on the wrong train 😬, her greeting made me feel very welcome and gave me a needed boost 😁.

Room was not ready for check-in even though we reached 1.5 hrs late of checkin time. The wait for not long but still these times should be respected as late check outs are charged so late check in should be compensated as well.

Great Room- size and comfortable bed. Very well behaved staff.

Can't think of anything I didn't like

Location very good - central, near Haymarket Station and tramline. The house is pretty. There's a pleasant lounge, little bar. Staff very helpful. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.
