Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomShower was compact but did work well. Didn’t like ordering breakfast the morning before as May not fancy that the next day.
Right on beach front. Easily accessible. Car parking at rear. Staff were amazing and breakfast to die for.

United KingdomI would have liked a comfortable chair to sit on, as there was only a stool. Having said that, if I had mentioned it, I'm sure Maria would have sorted it.
Access to the car was right outside the door, as we were in an annexe around the back. The breakfast was lovely and a great choice. Especially the pancakes for my daughter.

United KingdomHaving to come home.
The location was excellent and the staff were super friendly. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice, and some unusual ones like cornedbeef hash with omelette and rice (i had it without the rice - very nice). All the staff at breakfast wore a uniform (silver service style) and looked very smart. Room 21 (side sea view) was large, clean, and comfortable. Nice large smart tv with Netflix, Prime, etc. The hotel has its own car park BUT remember to request a space when you book.

United KingdomMaria and her hard working team made our stay really enjoyable. The Whitehall is in a great position for the stunning beach and promenade. Within walking distance of Rhos on Sea and Colwyn Bay. Easy access to the surrounding areas of Conwy, Snowdonia and Anglesey on the North Wales Expy. Lovely views from the veranda and all rooms at the front of the building. Exceptional breakfast, all cooked to order so fresh and piping hot. Very good cold selection on the buffet table. Lovely comfy bed with everything in the room you'd need.

SloveniaNo own parking, but we could park on a nearby street for free (hopefully no fine arrives). As our room was on the 2nd floor, carrying up the luggage was quite an ordeal (narrow staircase with 2 sets of doors).
Location next to the beach. Old seaside resort charm, retro-looking guesthouse.

United KingdomThe staff like to ask you what you want for breakfast after you've eaten which I found a bit hard. That's just a personal thing as I like to decide on the day but I understand it helps eliminate food waste. The food was amazing.
The room had a sea view and was so big. It had a double bed, armchair, wardrobe, dresser, drawers etc and an en-suite bathroom with a bath. It was so lovely sitting in the arm chair looking out at the sea.

United KingdomRoom was small and had a mixture of miss matched furniture which was tired and dated, the two hard wooden chairs by the window were not comfortable and need replacing, No sign for car park ? however room was very clean, bed was really comfortable and we had a good stay.
Breakfast was excellent with plenty off choice, delicious biscuits in our room replenished every day, location was right on the sea front, also a lovely decked patio surrounded with beautiful tubs and flowers with comfortable chairs which was a bonus, there was a lovely view of colwyn bay from our room, a great base to see beautiful wales from. Staff very hard working and welcoming.

ZimbabweThe entrance to the car park is not sign posted so caused us a bit of a problem. Apart from this, everything else was just perfect.
The breakfast was so so good and very filling such that we did not have lunch during our stay. We just ended up having drinks for lunch. The location was ideal as we could go out visiting other places in North Wales such as Bangor and Anglesey.
