“There was no problem to change rooms when we discovered a plumbing issue. The bed was very comfortable and the separate public car park was very convenient; there is a direct lift to an from the hotel.”
“The location attracted my attention for our family get together, roughly half way for everyone. The name Cheshire Cat sounded different and the rooms were a little quirky. It’s not a large place which suited us. The food was great and the staff were very knowledgeable about their gluten free menu and were able to offer advice and help.
The Cheshire Cat is on the outskirts of Chester and by the side of the canal. The canal path took us right into the centre and the park and ride was close by too.
Our two nights flew past!”
“We received a really warm welcome on arrival at the hotel and nothing was too much trouble. I had forgotten to add our small dog to the booking but it was not a problem on arrival at the hotel.
Having fresh milk and tea/coffee provided was really welcome as we had been travelling most of the day.
We were sent recommendations for dog friendly cafes/restaurants & pubs which was very helpful
and it was nice to see local businesses recommending each other.
The hotel is in the centre of Chester so everything is close by, but our rooms were very quiet and relaxing.
This hotel is a real gem with excellent service. Keep doing what you're doing, we will be telling our friends and family about this hotel.”
“It was perfect for a 60th celebration with friends - the staff were incredibly friendly and responsive and made our stay as we were treated like VIPs.
The food in The Forge was delicious and the bar staff were great too.
Highly recommend for a city break to Chester or for a race day!”
“We returned to the Crowne Plaza Chester for my son’s 10th birthday celebration weekend, not realising until after booking that we had actually stayed here back in the early 2000s. At that time, a disruptive 4am fire alarm left me swearing I’d never return. I had since forgotten about that experience—until history unfortunately repeated itself.
The Positives:
• The hotel is in a great location and works well as a base for exploring Chester.
• Our room was spacious and well-equipped, with working air conditioning, which was a big plus.
• Initially, everything seemed smooth, and despite some confusion at reception about my request for early check-in (an email I’d sent clearly hadn’t reached them), I was willing to overlook it.”
