Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTravellers should be aware that the hotel is on the edge of the porno shop and massage parlour area of Pigalle. You can avoid the grot by walking east or south from Place Pigalle. Lone women or young women travellers might not wish to walk in the grotty bit, as there's some chance of being hustled, but the area isn't stabby. Next time I am in Paris I may try the sister hotel near the Pantheon, in the 6th.
This small hotel just of Place Pigalle in the 9th has been decorated in a deliberately camp and over the top style, which is fun. The rooms are compact but pleasantly arranged, and several have small balconies with views of Le Sacre Coeur. We obtained a good rate (it was La Rentree). There are several fun restaurants and bars nearby, and many cool young Parisians socialise in the area. There two Metro stations close by. Recommended, subject to my comment below about the location.

United KingdomLack of hotel facilities/ area information in room . Continental style breakfast available in-room only, and at €18pp quite expensive. Coffee capsules & bottled water only renewed by asking at reception, not by room staff.

United KingdomUpbeat location with easy access to tourist areas and nightlife. Staff were exceptionally welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. We had a room (rather than a suite) which was spacious enough for our short stay and relatively well equipped with a safe and fridge ect. Wonderfully decorated throughout.

Especially both of the staffs were super kind and helpful. Elevator wasn't working but they compensated it with free breakfast during our stay. It was clean, location was great. Lastly, an update regarding the previous reviews, we had hot water, they said it's fixed.

United KingdomThe heating did not work in the room and we had to be supplied with 2 electric blown-air heaters. The room was described as having tea and coffee-making facilities but this had been replaced with a "pod" type coffee-making machine which made inferior coffee due to the water not heating up sufficiently. This meant we could not make tea either as the water was not hot enough. The staff did however agree to provide hot water on call. The rate for the room was described on Booking.com as "breakfast included" but we were not offered breakfast. However, it is only fair to say that we did not raise this with the hotel management at the time.
We liked the decor, comfort and cleanliness of the room. The spa bath was lovely and the view over Place Pigalle was great. The hotel is well-located, close to many bars, restaurants and entertainment. The staff were lovely. Very helpful and responded to our every need. We would revisit this hotel despite what follows under "What didn't you like" as the positives far outweighed these deficiencies.

United KingdomYou have to give the key to reception when leaving the building. If you return at night, the main door will be closed and you need to buzz for someone to come let you in. There has to be a better way. Breakfast was served later than requested.
The hotel is basically on the same street as the Moulin Rouge. It's an interesting walk, through the Red Light district. The interior design is unique, and very French!

United KingdomSlightly inconvenient not keeping the key with you when you went out. Not too much of a problem, though.
Superb location for exploring Montmartre! The staff upgraded our room to one with a fabulous jacuzzi as it was our anniversary! Loved the old parisian decor and style...very inkeeping with Moulin rouge! Not at all a soulless chain hotel. Will definitely return!

United KingdomIt's defo not 4*, probably 3*. And decor could mibee be a bit less fussy in the rooms, a bit tatty in places. However it was good sized room & bathroom, very clean. Cumfy bed.
It won't be everybody's cup of tea, if you like faceless chain hotels, this is not for you. It is unique, full of 'baroque' character, ideal for Pigalle. A bit 'rough round the edges ', however staff are very friendly & helpfull. Breakfast, served at yr room every morning was perfect.
