Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandI like when the hotel change your towel and put water and coffee every day while doing the room-they’re not doing that-they do not I think because of a psychologic manners. (but I asked and they were happy to do that.)
The place is magical like in a fairytale. We recommend to take the breakfast. It seems a bit expensive but the products are fresh and made with love. (and to be honest, it’s very difficult to find something at this level in the town nearby.) The biggest value in this place is the stuff that always welcoming. They recommended the most amazing place to eat and every problem got served in a minute it’s a huge help to have the staff booking and managing your stay.

GermanyThe house looks just lovely in its location. Our room on the ground floor was very nice and comfortable, with a great view on the surrounding lawns and fields from our window and terrace. The breakfast was very good; the hotel provides pre-printed notes with items to choose from to avoid food waste (with regard to the choices of bread it could be made clearer that the items to choose from, like croissants and so on, are additional to the several sorts of bread that are available at the buffet anyway). We will certainly choose Villa Walbaum again if we ever come back to this region.

NetherlandsNothing at all!
Simply everything. Right from the welcome when we arrived until our checkout 10 days later. Our room was fantastic, it overlooked the pool and a garden. The freshly made breakfasts were delicious. At one point there was even a freshly baked pear cake. But above all the people, everyone did their best to make our stay truly memorable. After a few days they what we liked for things to do and type of restaurants.

BelgiumThere is no WIFI in the room but they provided a WIFI access in the reception area. Still, in the room would be more comfortable. We selected the hotel because on "Booking" it stated to have a restaurant. The restaurant was closed. We personally prefer to have a restaurant on-site to be able to get a good meal and drinks at dinner and not have to worry about driving. Overall a very pleasant experience
A great place to stay, with very kind and attentive staff. The hotel is located off-road and is very quiet, It is not too far from town, and at least in early june easy to get to town. Also good location to visit tghe Ardeche area. The room was excellent. A somewhat more spacious desk would even have been better. The breakfast was excellent quality and served at the table: you order in the evening and get it served at the table in the morning. As it is not buffet style, somewhat repetitive and limited in warm food, but the different kinds of (warm) bread were really very good.

United KingdomA bar area would have been nice and sociable. The additional charges for eggs on the breakfast menu was a little surprising.
Amazing property, immaculately clean and well maintained. Oceane on reception was the perfect hostess upon our arrival. We didn’t eat at the property but the wine from their vineyard was superb!

SwitzerlandWe stayed 4 days late September at the Domaine Walbaum and wished we'd booked a week or more. It's one of the loveliest places I have stayed at. The owners are friendly and very helpful. Always available to help you and very respectful of your privacy. We felt at home almost instantly. The villa is beautifully renovated and has a lot of charm. Situated only minutes away from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc in a lavish domain, it is quiet and peaceful. The weather was beautiful, so we enjoyed the terrasse as well as the pool and desk chairs. The room was very comfortable, and had all the amenities you can wish for. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and everything functioned perfectly. The walk-in shower was large and the water pressure was excellent. If you enjoy wine, you should taste the domaine's selection, they are excellent. The restaurant was closed for the season, but the owners provided us with a list of recommendations in the area. Beware that many places tend to close for the season between the end of September and October. Breakfast was lavish, composed of fresh dairies, a selection of bread and home made cakes (some gluten and/or lactose free), fruit, and home made jam, marmelades and the local honey is amazing. The river Ardèche is only minutes away and follows the property on 2 Km. It's perfectly located to explore the south of Ardèche, to go hicking in the Gorges de l'Ardèche - or canoeing for that matter. The Domaine Walbaum is a rare gem, the kind you only share with your closest friends.

GermanyNo WIFI, which however wasn't a big issue given that phone network is strong at side, the owner are currently waiting for the fiber to be connected, so it should be a long lasting issue, they offer to plug in in the office area
Hotel Villa Walbaum is located in an exceptional setting in the vineyards next to the Ardeche. The pictures are an absolut accurate reflection of what you will find, while they only partly show the outstanding luxury flair of the Villa and yard. The owner couple are absolutely devoted to give their guest a good time and make sure you have everything you need. The Breakfast is small but with more than sufficient choices, especially considering the fair price they ask for it. Dinner is a changing menu and of very good quality, since they don't have a kids menu, they took the effort to make a small dish for my son. Rooms are super clean with a big bathroom and the beds are super comfy. For the ones being interested in Roman History check the fantastic Collection of prints in the stairway and the corridors

We loved the villa. In a very tourist area it is an oasis of calm and tranquility and the rooms, furnishings and comfort level are superb. Situated down a long private track, through the Villa's own Domaine everything about the property allows you to rest and relax. The pool is quiet, no fights for loungers, dinner and breakfast on the open terrace overlooking the vines and listening to the wildlife. I wish we could have stayed longer. We'll certainly go back

United KingdomOne one side is the vineyard - all very rural. Opposite the entrance to the land leading to the property, is what looks like an industrial estate. Bit of an odd mixture. The receptionist was very friendly as were the breakfast staff. The owner (female) was not very welcoming and didn’t bother to say goodbye as we were leaving. There were only about 6 or 8 guests so it would have been a nice and feasible gesture.
Lovely bed with quality linen. Great walk-in power shower, with quality products. Property has been tastefully refurbished and looks lovely on a sunny day and at night.
