How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We left the light on in the bathroom since it was very dark at night and we were afraid we would stumble on the way to the bathroom. At 2 o'clock in the night the host entered the room to shut off the light. She did have a point, since it is a waste, but maybe a night light would be a solution.
Very clean, quiet, friendly host and excellent breakfast. We could park on the location. We were traveling when an elderly person and the host asked kindly if she could offer a room downstairs. She also offered to change our room for a better one. She also helped us find a good parking spot for the market in Arras.

She only spoke French but Google helped lol
It felt like a Palace , very querky with such a loverly host and the Breakfast was excellent. Loved my stay and my motorbike was parked safely in there back yard

Location, room, bathroom, breakfast, the house is amazing and the facilities fabulous. The bathroom was a high standard. Parking available is always good. On a main road but you'd never kniw.

Lovely breakfast, fresh and warm. Amazing hot chocolate. Great recommendation on evening meal, Chez Madeleine - good food there too.

The stand out thing was not knowing were you could go and were you couldnt really it felt a little awkward, probably so kind of welcome sheet would solve this issue, the bed in our room was a standard double and a tad short for me and not really comfortable but for 1 night its ok...
The house is absolutely immaculate second to non, the room was a good size and well equipped, the lady was very warm and welcoming and help us every way she could, the parking for our touring motorcycle was brilliant.. the breakfast was all fresh and well presented.

Air-conditioning was noisy in operation....as it was v hot, it was a shame to turn it off in the night A wall screened the shower and toilet from the room, we prefer the toilet to have a door.
Modern well appointed room....kitch but v functional. Parking off street. V comfortable bed. Good breakfast, friendly host A good stay and we would stay again

A little challenging to find dinner after our long drive from Germany. On the first night we went to Henin Beaumont and found a nice Cafe-Brasserie Paris-Henin. The second evening we went to Au-shopping which we found quite confusing. Settling in the end for a meal at Hippopotamus which was good for a chain but not quite what we had hoped for from previous trips to France, pre-covid.
Very good breakfast and warm welcome by our host.
