How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything. Best hotel of our two week trip touring around France by Motorcycle. Excellent and attentive English speaking staff. Great Restaurant. Secure parking. Great location.

Fabulous hotel. It's in a very beautiful spot, right on the river, with a fabulous view of the ancient castle. Very comfortable and a great bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was very special.

The food. It was mediocre at best. We wouldn’t recommend eating dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast was not good value for money.

Hotel was perfectly situated, just a short walk into the beautiful town. Secure parking is a bonus. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't have breakfast or dinner at the hotel so can't coment on this.

Nothing not to like!
Lovely hotel, great rooms, delicious restaurant food and very nice staff. Clisson is just gorgeous and we always wish we were staying longer but twice it’s been one night as part of a road trip through France. Next time two nights and definitely back to this hotel which is in the perfect location to explore this magical town.

We had dinner in the restaurant and it was truly dreadful. I could go into great detail if I had the time, but in summary, I can’t emphasise strongly enough that this restaurant should be avoided at all costs. There were several restaurants in very close proximity to the hotel and these simply couldn’t be worse. The restaurant staff were completely uninterested and unapologetic about the dire food, even though we sent a lot of it back.
Very spacious room with view over the river and to the castle. Excellent reception staff Very clean Superb breakfast

Loved Clisson and loved the hotel. if you come from the UK don't be put off by the Best Western branding as we nearly did. This is a boutique hotel in the most delightful setting overlooking the castle and by the river. We were going to go out for dinner but decided to eat at the hotel and we were not disappointed. The pre arrival instructions on where and how to park were very helpful and the reception team were equally as friendly on arrival. We were traveling from Bordeaux to Roscoff for the afternoon ferry and this is the perfect stop off mid point location. What a find.

Warm welcome. Lovely location near old town and magnificent castle with a view of the river. Nearby secure parking. Restaurant very good with excellent menu. Buffet breakfast equally good. Nice terrace to relax with a drink. There was a Venetian fete going on when we arrived which added to the atmosphere.

There is as a Rick concert being held very very loudly in the terrace which we were not informed about. We were told there was a choice of barbecue on the terrace or half board in the dining room but we would have liked a la carts
