Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SloveniaNothing in particular, if one thing, maybe the room equipment was a bit basic, but we had everything we needed so I would not hold that against them.
The Villa Roma is in the very heart of old town Amboise, right on the promenade, so the location could not be better. It is an Italian restaurant with few rooms in the back. Our room was spacious with fridge inside. Bed comfortable, all was very clean. Bathroom was small but clean and with all ammenities we needed. They have space for bicycles inside, under the roof, which is great for Loire cycling.

United KingdomThe floors creaked badly but this is because the building is so old .
When we arrived we didn’t get a friendly greeting she seemed fed up that we had arrived , but as she showed us around she was friendlier and helpful showing us everything in the room , it was right in the centre on a lovely street . Very olde worlde building . Spacious room with sink fridge and microwave .

United KingdomHad to boil kettle on the floor as kettle cable too short to reach plug sockets. Very squeaky floorboard on one side of bed. Staircase to 2nd floor is very steep and uneven and could cause problems to those with mobility issues.
Location perfect for visiting Amboise. Friendly and welcoming staff. Spacious room and bathroom. Super comfy bed.

United StatesNot staffed all the time as it is located over a restaurant and times there are staff is limited by the hours of the restaurant. But it is a B&B. This B&B out of the many we have stayed at had to he most limited breakfast of any (juice, and one croissant). Most B&B excel in good breakfast. It was cold at night and mornings and there was no heat.
Good location.

United KingdomWe couldn’t find any WiFi, which was a surprise. There were things about the room, like the collapsing cupboard and neither cups nor milk for the tea/coffee, which seemed odd. The bathroom was ok, but needed some tlc and a bit of an upgrade. Climbing the narrow, vertiginous, ancient wooden staircase with heavy bags is, shall we say, a novel experience? Not for the faint-hearted, but, once you get used to it, perfectly manageable.
The location is excellent and couldn’t be improved upon. The restaurant downstairs is very good indeed and we enjoyed the breakfast (in the same place) a lot. There’s an eccentric charm about the whole place, which was fun. The view from the bedroom windows is onto the street and the château opposite. The bed was very comfortable and all seemed clean enough. Nice, unique atmosphere.

United StatesThe only issue was the stairs. I am 80 and they were steep and hard to navigate for young people. I only took my overnight clothes to room . The listing should state that it is not appropriate for elderly or those with mobility issues. Otherwise was superb.
Loved the location. The room was great and had good view of the castle

United KingdomWe needed to ask at the restaurant below as this B&B is not marked anywhere but is above the restaurant.
Amazingly convenient location in the centre of Amboise, right near the chateau and many restaurants. The breakfast was croissant, baguette and jams, with orange juice and coffee. They'll make you an espresso if you ask, which was awesome. Even though we were told the wifi wouldn't work in the room, only communal areas, it stretched to our room, which was convenient.

A very helpful and welcoming staff, we were very well looked after! The rooms are comfortable, spacious and well decorated, you can believe the photos :-) The location is on the very busy street, it gets quiet after 22:00 (but we enjoyed it).

United StatesThe bed was not comfortable, wry squeaky floor, which is understandable due to age of building. Accessing the room was narrow stairway. Also, coffee cart has to be rolled into hallway to access electrical outlet.
Breakfast was okay, no protein. Croissants, Aguirre, fruit, butter, jam, coffee, juice

United StatesThe room on the other hand. They are skimping. Water and mold stains on the ceiling? also in the shower? They could easily put another outlet or two by framing the mirror at the sink with the track for the electrical wires - placing one on each side. The could add an outlet by extending from the ceiling light to baseboard height and place a small refrigerator and the coffee stuff there. They could make it much nicer than it was. Oh, and there was no electricity when we woke up to get ready to leave. Yes, it came back on but really?
All of their food was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast there. The breaded veal with spaghetti was amazing! The breakfasts were good too.
