Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomChoice of hotel room was very limited despite booking request. Basic amenities, linen and towels, but it served our purpose. The hotel is quite old but represents good value for money.
Nicely located hotel, good free car parking and easy access to walk into Arcachon town. Situated in a nice neighbourhood and close to nearby beaches and local sights.

MoldovaWe stayed as a family. The bed in the bedroom was clean and comfortable. However, the sofa bed gave the impression that it had already been used — not exactly dirty, but it didn’t feel fresh. If that happens, just ask the staff — they are helpful and will replace it without any problem.
Villa Regina is a very good option in terms of value for money. It’s a quiet, peaceful location in a green area next to a beautiful park. The grounds are well-kept, clean, and safe. The building is a charming historic mansion with character — high ceilings in the rooms, no unpleasant smells. The room was spacious with a pleasant view from the window. There was always hot water with good pressure. The pool is clean and cozy — especially nice during hot weather. Free on-site parking is a definite plus. The staff were polite and attentive, everything was handled in a calm and professional manner. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Large room, quiet and airy. Perfect for a solo traveller. Good location near the beach and old town, not far from the station. The garden area around the outdoor pool gave a quiet, restful atmosphere. The breakfast was good value for money.

United KingdomNothing to dislike in my opinion. Just wish I could have stayed longer!
This place is an absolute gem. I had stayed in the centre of Arcachon previously and wondered if this would be a bit far out? Once you discover, thanks to exceptionally helpful reception staff, the short cuts into town, it's perfect! The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The whole ambience of traditional France is only enhanced by the freshly decorated interior. I literally wanted to live there!

FranceRoom was large but a bit dark. No air-con but large doors onto a Juliet Balcony for air.
Easy free parking was a great attraction in this busy holiday town. It’s up the hill but there is a lift in the nearby park that takes you to town Centre level. Its a spacious property with fantastic staff. Easy disabled access via side door that’s not in the photos. Secure room on ground floor bikes that also has charging for electric scooters and bikes.

BelgiumThere was not enough light at the kitchen counter, located in a dark niche in our studio.
Hospitable staff who gave excellent suggestions about the area of Arcachon during the reception. Luggage carts are available to transport your luggage from your car to your room in one go. An elevator is available. The room was clean. Our studio had an outdated style bathroom and kitchen, but everything worked properly. We mainly used the large refrigerator and dishwasher. We also used the coin laundry and it worked well (cash only). Our room was at garden level and had a new little terrace, nice for taking breakfast outside (we did not buy the breakfast option). We enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomPerhaps the pool could have been open from 10am instead of 11am, but this is only a minor thought, the sun was on the pool area from 11am to 7pm.
The building is beautiful. The rooms were very well furnished with super comfortable beds and comfortable seating. The kitchenette was comprehensively equipped and even had a dishwasher. Very clean and well prepared rooms. We had read some negative reviews in terms of atmosphere, lack of toiletry products, reception/ pool opening times, and lack of air conditioning. We had no problems at all and we were staying in the very hot weather, first two weeks of August. The reception staff Melissa and Sonia are so welcoming and the maintenance staff very pleasant indeed. Reception was open all morning and from 15 -18hrs . Excellent tourist information area available 24 hours. Free bicycles on site. There was an excellent high output fan, which we only needed to use on two nights, and it was more than sufficient. As this is a magnificent old Victorian building, there are shutters to protect against any rise in heat. A complementary kit contained a toilet roll, eco dishwasher tabs, washing liquid, cleaning liquid, and a sponge. The Monoprix supermarket was an 8 minute walk. We did not use the breakfast area as we enjoyed walking through the little park and taking the lift down to the boulangerie. Everything including the local area, the Residence, the customer service and restful environment was very, very good.
