Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

What a wonderful time at Villa Pauline. It’s a quiet haven in the vibrant little town Avignon. The rooms were very spacious and well decorated, and the pool area is great! The owners, Christiane and Michel, go above and beyond and serve a delicious local breakfast every morning, we still miss the croissants! They also provided great recommendations for restaurants and things to explore in the area.

United StatesOur stay was too short! Side note: you do need to uber to Avignon or get the bus at the car park nearby. We loved being away from the summer crowds!
This villa is an absolute gem as are the hosts Michel & Christiane! In addition to being so helpful, they were interesting and lovely to converse with. There is plenty of parking inside the gated property. The Villa is gorgeous, filled with art, our room was massive, and the pool divine. Breakfast is included - delicious coffee, eggs, croissants, fruit. One night we were tired and we ordered pizza and Michel set us up in the dining room. We highly recommend this inn!

Czech RepublicStylish villa with amazing facilities and a sense of design. Very friendly owners and a great concept of meeting all guests (not only) at the breakfast table. In one moment you can test your English skills in a friendly way with a native speaker - a guest from the USA, Australia and England

BelgiumAttention to detail could be higher: eg swimming pool cleaning machine was still in the pool. We also had a big and beautiful terrace but it hadn’t been wiped for a few days. Bathroom (including toilet) could not be closed off. A bit strange when you have to go to the toilet.
Beautiful property and very friendly owners Quirky but big rooms Beautiful and big swimming pool

United StatesGreat location within less than 10 minutes drive to the city center. The property was nicely decorated with various artworks. We booked a suite which was very spacious and clean. The breakfast included great selections of fruit, yogurt, croissant, scrambled eggs, orange juice and coffee. The property has secured parking spaces inside the locked gate.

United StatesNot one thing.
Michel, the owner, was incredibly helpful, giving us important information on how to navigate to the TGV station, what time we We had a wonderful stay at Villa Pauline in Avignon! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and thoughtful touches. Michel even adjusted breakfast to accommodate our early departure, preparing a delicious spread that included perfectly ripe cantaloupe, fresh-baked bread and croissants (which he personally went out to get that morning), freshly squeezed orange juice, creamy scrambled eggs, and plenty of hot coffee. Not only was the breakfast exceptional, but Michel’s company made the experience even more special—his conversation was both interesting and genuinely enjoyable. One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful pool. After a full week of sightseeing, we were ready to relax, and Michel’s serene pool area was exactly what we needed. We wholeheartedly recommend this inn to anyone looking for a safe, spacious, and welcoming place to stay in Avignon. It’s a true gem with an eclectic charm and a host who goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable.

United StatesIt’s a teeny bit far from the historic center, but if you’re up for a good walk then it should be no problem!
We loved the bed and breakfast concept! It was so lovely having a communal meal. (And it was delicious French breakfast). The pool was fabulous and the hosts are the best! Michel and Christiane go above and beyond to make their guests comfortable. The art in the house is like going to a museum. It’s such a unique and memorable place. There’s a free shuttle to town close by that runs until 8pm, but the walk is also not bad at all if you don’t mind a bit of exercise.

Christianne and Michel were lovely hosts who gave us lots of information about the sights and restaurants . A charming property with beautiful pool .
