Although it said “Private bathroom, it was in fact a bathroom shared between two rooms. That said, the bathroom was fantastic- but for practical purposes during the night it didn’t really suit my requirements.

Very friendly and helpful hosts. We were able to park our motor cycles inside the premises so that they were safe. Very nicely renovated old building with all comfort. Good tips for going out in the evening. Lovely breakfast with self-made ingredients. Clear house rules.

Not having an adjoining bathroom but the bathroom was very spacious and was for our own use.

Near to Restaurants. Very attentive host who ensured we had everything we needed to have a good stay. The breakfast was plentiful and the garden was beautiful. The beds very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep.

Fabienne and her husband were really lovely and so hospitable. We were treated to a cup of tea on arrival , with fruits from their beautiful garden. It was our first visit to The Marais and we had a tour of the waterways and learned some of the history of the area. Breakfast was delicious, with eggs, fruit, honey conserves all from homegrown fruits l, chickens and even a beehive in the garden. Totally above and beyond our expectations. We will definitely mark this as a brilliant place to stop close to Calais. Highly recommend.

It is a bit a pity that the villa is located next to a busy road. Yet that would not form a big problem if only the acoustic isolation from the window in the room was adequate. I also miss curtains that make the room darker, now a lot of light is entering the room even when the curtains are fully closed.

Very nice and cozy villa and very charming and friendly host, the breakfast was very good. The city is not that large, so everything is basically within walking distance.

We stayed overnight on our way back to the UK and were only looking for a quick stopover but Villa Marguerite is a delightful place and we could happily have stayed longer. The house and its history are fascinating and the decoration is beautiful. We were offered tea in the garden and had a super breakfast before an early start. Our hostess could not have been more helpful.

Decor is unusual and very much in tune with the property. Its great not to have a 'cookie-cutter' formula for interior design. Large rooms are very comfortable.

Had to put a few things into a night bag to carry up the stairs to the 2nd floor. Understandable why this was necessary but slightly inconvenient.

The villa and grounds are beautiful and accommodation lovely although the rooms were up 2 flights of stairs, not a problem if you're fit and agile!

Very steep stairs, but we knew this before we arrived. Location is on a main road and looked a little uninviting, however once inside it was very nice. A bit of a walk to the town centre but we could have driven, as there was plenty of parking.

Breakfast excellent with freshly cooked eggs and French toast. Host very pleasant and helpful. Room furnished to a very high standard. a very pleasant rear garden with a pond and ducks.

Spacious rooms. Lovely garden. Excellent welcome. Walkable distance into town. I used to visit every every year in November up until 12 yrs ago. The town has changed, but it bought back many fond memories.

It is beautiful, decorated to a very high standard. The tea, coffee, water available on the stair landing was very thoughtful and very much enjoyed. The breakfast was outstanding (and very different to the norm!)
