Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only minus was that in winter the bathroom was a little cold. A heated towel rail could help. But this remark is only for winter.
Vert clever design of this refurbished old house. Large and very quiet rooms and a lovely staff

ItalyLocated in the historial centre of a typical quaint French town, the small hotel is renovated, clean and very comfortable. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. The room and bathroom are large, clean and furnished with all the necessary. There is a shared kitchen and lounge to make a cup of tea or coffee or to warm up food. For breakfast, my son had a very tasty cheese omelette and I had pastries. There is a safe free parking about 100metres away.

United KingdomThe location is quite remote. Live music in the street until midnight (Weekend in mid July). A trip to the coast could involve a longish detour or a drive over a very steep, twisty road to the top of a hill and down the other side.
Everything. Excellent room.

CanadaTry your best to speak French. I am Canadian but my French is weak - I got the impression a bit more work on my French would’ve been appreciated.
The room was stellar - large, modern and clean. Huge bathroom with plenty of everything. The balcony was awesome and a great place to sit out morning or evening. The bedroom was great loads of storage, chairs, nice windows onto the street, huge king bed with really comfy pillows and sheets. The rooftop pool and terrace were much appreciated a I wish we spent more time relaxing there. The attached group kitchen and living area was a real surprise - fantastic idea. A huge kitchen with everything you’d want to cook with or just toss together sandwiches for the day, plus a long table. It included espresso maker, toaster, microwave, massive oven, full fridge and beer keg! There’s a brewery and ice cream shop on the main floor too! Plus there’s a living room area with couch and chairs and tv - a hit for the rugby World Cup games. Collobrieres is a pretty town with about 5-6 restaurants and nice streets to walk up and down - not a lot else there - but pretty. Breakfast was served across the street in the restaurant on the river. It was typical French breakfast with great pastries, jams, juice, coffee and yogurt. Filling for the day.

SpainEverything was perfect!
This was a great surprise! We chose Collobrières as a stop on our way back home from Italy. We knew very little about it and upon arrival we were very positively surprised. This is a place you need to visit! Outside the main touristic destinations of the coast, hidden amongst forests this village is absolutely amazing. The village square is magnificent and there is beautiful streets with well kept houses to walk and enjoy. Many restaurants and cafes and there is always people around. The actual hotel was also amazing, an old village house tastefully renovated providing excellent modern accommodation in the heart of the village. Our room was in two levels offering a huge space perfect for us, our teenagers and our dogs. And the common areas offered a nice relaxing living room equipped with tv , big fridge and coffee maker. Finally an external patio with a swimming pool where you could relax and cool down. Worth mentioning that the air conditioning is one of the best we have encountered in our travels which was very much appreciated as it was 40 degrees during our stay. The breakfast offered at the restaurant across the street owned by the family was also great. We used the restaurant also for lunch and dinner and we were amazed by the quality of food. We definitely recommend this place

SwitzerlandIt was very loud on the street, even with closed window…at night and in the morning. No sign on the main door when you arrive. Look for the number 10…and the beer outside the house :)
Great location, very beautiful furniture…and the village itself is wonderful. The Omelette at the restaurant was amazing too!

United KingdomIf you approach from the East (from Grimaud) the road is very scenic and twisty, but the local drivers and bikers drive very fast on what is a single track road. Ok for me, but my wife in the shotgun seat was somewhat alarmed at times! Approaching from the west is safer but not as much fun.
The accommodation was a tasteful mix of old modernised to the latest standard. It was modernised tastefully with traditional French styling with with modern showers, and bedding. The village itself was also what one would imagine a French village to be, small friendly, but with good restaurants and helpful friendly people. I was sent an e-mail on how to check which I didn’t see which caused some confusion when I arrived, but as the receptionist spoke perfect English it was sorted out with no fuss. The village is pedestrian only (as it should be for the size and position) so cars have to be parked in the village car park. This was no issue as the walk was only 3 to 4 minutes at pleasant stroll. The hotel gave me all the information I needed. I have been travelling around Europe (France Switzerland Spain and Italy) and this was my favourite stay.

New ZealandThe hotel name on the front would have made finding it a little easier. There is no reception desk there, it is at the bar/restaurant across the road.
Right in the middle of town, and our room had a nice view of the pool and over the rooftops of the town. A large bedroom and nice bathroom that were both recently renovated. Free car parking in a public car park two minutes walk away. Friendly and helpful staff.
