Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing. I didn’t understand the car charger wasn’t part of the property, but just a minor thing.
The owner handed the key and she was really nice and available to help. The house was really nice and fully accessorised. Amazing welcoming.

Beautiful house, immaculately clean. Great location. Loved all the quirky features of the house and personal touches. Very comfortable beds. Host was lovely and really helpful. Thank you. We loved it! And Troyes is also very pretty, lots of history and places to eat. Free parking right outside on road or secure car park. Such a little gem, so glad we found it.

United KingdomParking often presents a dilemma: if you have a car full of holiday bags then be prepared to move everything into the property or run the possibility of theft from the public car park - an inevitable potential risk in a popular tourist town.
If you like properties with character, this is truly delightful! Narrow winding wooden stairs in a medieval timbered house; a lovely quiet courtyard and really thoughtfully equipped accommodation. Amenities are very good and the standard of decoration is high. The hostess just exudes charm and friendliness and is a real mine of helpful information. There was a fair close by when we arrived and the hostess moved her own car in order that we might find a space in the crowded public car park. Location is on the edge of the old city and a perfect location for walking and discovering the delights of this lovely town.

United KingdomThe only slight challenge (but this is my fussy kids) was having two double beds so my kids had to share a bed.
This was a lovely comfortable home we'll equipped with everything we needed. Right in the town centre. The owner even came to meet us so she could help us with a parking space. We would have happily stayed longer. My children voted it one of the best places we've stayed in! .

If you manage to book this accommodation, consider yourself lucky! Your trip to Troyes will undoubtedly be unforgettable. Book it as soon as possible—this place is a gem. The location is perfect, allowing you to explore everything on foot. There's a secure parking lot right in front of the house. The host is one of the kindest and most helpful I've ever met, always responding quickly and proactively assisting with any needs. The house itself is spotless—every detail has been taken care of. The two bedrooms are clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. Even the towels in the bathroom smell amazing, which my young daughter particularly loved. The towels were even better than those you'd find in a hotel! The bathroom and toilet are separate, making it more hygienic and convenient. Upstairs, you'll find the kitchen and living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with every type of utensil and appliance you could need, all immaculately clean and well-maintained. The living room is beautifully arranged with a cozy, cottage-like atmosphere. The thoughtful decor and attention to detail really reflect the host's care. My family had a wonderful, relaxing experience here. The house combines the charm of a traditional building with the convenience of modern interiors. We would love to come back again!

United KingdomOn a hot summer weekend we did hear noise from people walking home after nights out. It's not a huge party town, but groups talking late at night are quite audible with the windows open. Not a big problem for us but light sleepers might prefer it outside of the hotter weather.
A charming 17th Century maisonette, with its own secure walled courtyard with sunshade, table and chairs. (This also gave access to another of the owner's maisonettes whose occupants were away). While oozing character, the cottage was also comfortable, clean and fully functioning. Every want had been thought through with toiletries, spare towels, dish cloths, tea bags, coffee and filter papers for the machine (yay - not a Nespresso!), games, books, even a supermarket shopping bag, and loads more. Tastefully appointed with no twee nick nacks. We dealt with the charming owner who lives nearby, introduced us to Troyes using a helfpul tourist map, and who brought us croissants one morning, too. The bedrooms are on the ground floor giving onto the courtyard and were cool during the hot summer nights. You have to walk through the 2nd bedroom to get to the dressing area / bathroom, but the toilet is independently accessible. The dressing and bathroom area has large wardrobes, and was well stocked with items for clothes care. There is a good comfy seating area upstairs and a kitchen/diner which had a microwave, hob and small worktop oven. A reasonable range of cooking equipment and enough crockery etc was provided, although we ate out. Location is right on the pedestrianised old town of Troyes which is a perfect medieval town of some size with plenty of bars and restaurants. We parked using the owner's pass in the public car park outside. (Note this is tree-lined space next to the quiet Boulevard Victor Hugo - not a concrete wasteland as they can be). A small supermarket was a block up on the Bd. V. Hugo and a great bakery just on the other side of the car park.

The lady who owns the house met us to give us the keys. She was absolutely lovely. The house itself is a beautiful historic little house, right in the centre of Troyes, with free parking opposite. The house is quite quirky with wooden beams and low ceilings. The house had everything you need and the beds were so comfortable. The price was amazing value. We were only staying one night and I was sad we couldn't stay longer. Next time..... Very highly recommended.
