How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location at the edge of the town, but only 10 minutes walk from the walled city. The hosts are fantastic: very warm, North American hospitality (they are Canadians). The breakfast was seriously good - both in choice, quality and quantity. Parking was easy and safe in the large parking place right in front of the building.
All good. Nothing to add.
Thank you very much for your kind review! We’re so pleased you enjoyed the location, breakfast, and parking, and that our hospitality made you feel welcome. I hope you were able to get some fabulous pictures as well! It was an absolute pleasure hosting you all, and we’d be delighted to see you again on a future visit to Carcassonne.

Verified reviewThe most lovely stay. We were only there one night but welcomed so generously by the lovely hosts. The location was perfect for us, and only 20 minutes to walk to the old Cité. Would 100% recommend, and definitely planning to visit again. The breakfast was the best we had in the whole of France - so much lovely fresh produce! Nothing seemed too much trouble for the lovely couple who own and run this gem of a place

Verified reviewThe B and B was lovely. The hosts were friendly and informative. Breakfast was good. The choice offered was extensive and tasty. TV helpfully included access to Netflix and Amazon Prime.
We found the ensuite limited. Not very private with the sink, wc and shower all separate. It seemed to us that there was enough space in the room to create a better layout of the bathroom facilities. There was no bin in the room. Just a small one in the wc.
Thank you for your comments; we really appreciate them. Yes, the layout of the room may seem different from a standard inn, but in many of these homes, we are limited in the infrastructure of these historic homes as to where we can add facilities. It was still essential to our guests to have in-room en-suites. We hope you could also use the recycling centre in the breakfast room. This is intended to reduce waste, allowing us to offer a small receptacle rather than multiple bins. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We wish you the best, Lisa and Chris.

Verified reviewHonestly...we loved everything...from the moment we arrived till our time to leave. Lisa and Chris could not have been more welcoming. Offering great ideas for places to eat and visit, left fans, iced water and sun creams out for the heat, making sure we were ok each day. Breakfast was a fabulous selection of fresh and tasty savouries and fresh fruit, with a glass of bubbly to celebrate the Tour de France finish, right outside the hotel! A gorgeous stone stair caes with iron banisters lead to our room that was fresh, airy, very clean and quiet with fresh towels daily if required, the shower was amazing and the bed so comfortable. Beautiful courtyard for having drinks after sundown. We can't forget Lincoln, their gorgeous dog, such a character and so friendly. Such a beautiful typically French hotel, we were absolutely in love with it and felt quite emotional to leave. Thank you so much Lisa and Chris, you made our long awaited holiday to Carcassonne, the best 💕x Highly recommended

Verified reviewFrom the welcome to the departure, Chris and Lisa were a delight, warm, inviting and knowledgeable about the area, restaurants etc. Perfect hosts. Beautiful property in the centre of Carcassonne with easy parking. The room was beautifully decorated, comfy bed, air con, everything we needed. Breakfast was beautifully laid out and a delight, buffet style with choices. The property felt like a home away from home. Lovely terrace at the back of the property, enjoyed a bottle of wine after a long day out. Convenient location to the centre, an 8 min walk. Will definitely return. 10 stars if we could give.
I can highly suggest the Fete du Vin in September and the Magie de Noel in December for fascinating returns! Wishing you the best, Lisa and Chris.

It was wonderful getting to know you all and helping provide an enjoyable stay in Carcassonne. Sharing our home is always a pleasure; the energy of its 150 years is always present. It is wonderful that in such an old townhouse we can provide en-suites, sometimes the configuration of the sinks is creative :) Cheers, Lisa and Chris.

Verified reviewEverything! The warm welcome, the recommendations of where to eat (my daughter is vegan) & where to visit. Breakfast was great, and very accommodating for dietary restrictions. Beautiful room with access to the courtyard which is so lovely to sit in. Everything is so well thought of. Lisa & Chris are the most wonderful, friendly hosts. We also enjoyed meeting the resident chocolate Lab, he's an adorable boy ☺️. Can't recommend this place enough. A final point, the airport pick up & drop off service is a fabulous extra this accommodation offers & helps to make the whole experience of visiting Carcassonne hassle free.
Absolutely nothing!

Verified reviewSalut BB was in a convenient place for parking as we were there at weekend and it was free. We had a very friendly welcome from Chris and Lisa with a nice glass of wine. The room was fine and spacious, breakfast was a help yourself buffet with lots of choice. A nice little garden area to relax in after a days sightseeing and a drink from the honesty bar. Not very close to the Cite and old ramparts but walkable.
Everything was fine
We love the charm and warmth the townhouse offers, a slice of heaven and history combined. Wishing you the best and a happy return one day. Cheers! Lisa and Chris.
