How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

the temperature of the beautiful outdoor pool was far too hot

Lovely salt water spa on site. The indoor pool was fabulous, like a gym in itself. The room was lovely and comfortable. Great shower. Lovely view from balcony. Stunning setting. Outside pool was fabulous. Beautiful walk into town about 15 mins to great bars and restaurants that were all reasonably priced. Royan is a stunning town, clean and well looked after.

Surly person in the spa. Told me off for being in the sauna without a towel (I was in my swimming costume) and then came back and told me off again for looking at my emails! No one else was in there - only me.

Absolutely stunning place, balcony with sea views, the guys were incredible. We don’t speak a lot of French and they really helped us and made us feel so welcome and the food was to die for. Cheers guys hopefully see you soon.

This is a wonderful hotel and the views out across the bay are just stunning. It has a really nice feel to the bar and restaurants and the rooms are all lovely and we had one with a nice balcony overlooking the sea. It’s great that you have safe underground parking as well with a lift straight up to the room.

The thalasso therapy pool was smaller than I thought and the relaxation room could be upgraded to make itore comfortable and cosy. The machine for tea/coffee in the relaxation area didn't work for the whole three days we were there. It was about a 15 minute walk to some restaurants but we went in late September and many of these were closed.
The staff were lovely and the room was very nice. All of the amenities you could want including robe and slippers. Upgraded to a sea view room and it was worth it. The restaurant food was nice but overpriced for what it was.

There isn’t much available information in English. It would have been very helpful to have an English leaflet with information about the spa, restaurants etc. The website is mostly in French, even if English is selected.
The Spa is very beautiful. Modern, relaxing, stunning outdoor pool and has helpful and friendly staff. Very clean spa with good facilities and standards. Sauna and other areas are required to be kept silent, which is super relaxing. The bedroom was great, bed & linen excellent. Beautiful decor everywhere. Helpful reception staff

The food was very expensive.
The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool area was better than we expected and we enjoyed using the facilities. The complimentary water everywhere was really appreciated.

The spa closed at 7:00 and we got to it at 6:58. It would have been nice to have the spa stay open until 10:00 pm.
The location was nice and the view was wonderful.

We felt we weren’t given enough information about the services the hotel offered. It was our first visit, but staff assumed we knew the procedures in place for entry to the Piscine and Spa.
Good position , great views. Our bedroom was clean spacious and immaculately presented. Lovely thalassotherapy pool.

Beautiful hotel on the coast. Tastefully decorated with excellent food. We had dinner and it was excellent with very nice service. We didn't have time for the wellness, but we think it will be as good as the overall view of the hotel. We would definitely like to come back sometime.

Spa pool was often too crowded
Beautifully renovated hotel with great facilities. We especially liked the infinity pool. Staff were friendly and the location excellent- right on the beach.

the room on the first floor had a poor balcony with a view of mostly the roof. We would like a top floor room only for further bookings.
