Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe lighting in the room was poor.
The dorm had AC and a private bathroom. Staff was nice and helpful and there was a cozy atmosphere. Everything was as described.

PortugalThe size of the rooms + breakfast was 4€ for a store-bought croissant with butter and coffee It was a bit pricier for a hostel but great for Toulouse
The hostel is in a great location in town, also close to the bus stop for buses going to the airport. The room was nice and clean, although small, and the bunk beds were small too. However, there was a good curtain blocking out the light and a sockets to charge your phone in. The staff was kind enough to lend me a charger cable when mine wasn't working. Overall, a good option for a hostel.

AustraliaThe room lacks ventilation and smelled of smoke permeating from the courtyard area on level 1. The shower drainage is poor meaning the drain leaves lots of gunk you stand in while taking a shower. It needs a very deep clean in the room. It is an old design internally and perhaps difficult to clean properly.
Good location, it was a lot quieter than expected. Staff were very nice.

United KingdomThe bunks are way too small. Claustrophobic. Hard to get into and you cannot sit up. The light in my bunk did not work.
Great location in the centre of Toulouse. Clean rooms and I think it’s the first time I have ever stayed in a 3-person dorm. Good air con in room. Considerate dorm mates.

Belgium6 beds dormitory and one toilet with WC and shower and lavatory inside, it means when one takes shower another one cannot use the WC - there should be a division between shower place and WC place and lavatory, that is the standard in dormitories
Nice place to sleep in the center of Toulouse - clean bed

SwitzerlandThere is only one power-plug at the bed that is used for the bedside-lamp. So you decide: light or charging. There are 2 USB-charging ports of which only 1 worked (if you bend your cable a bit). During the night none of the power plugs worked. The room is pretty dark. It's on street-level and without AC. So in the night the window is closed and it gets very warm. In the bath there was no soap or shower-gel in the dispensers.
The location was great, very central and just a 15 minute walk from the train station. The staff was also very nice and the common area was cozy.

New ZealandClosed in bunks are very tight, not a lot of head room, a bit coffin like! Toilets off the dining area were not very clean
Just two of us in a small dorm that served 3 which was nice. Reasonably close to the train station. A/C and nice bathrooms.

SpainThe building is very, very old, so are the rooms and the bathrooms. Some outlets in the rooms don't work and the light is very, very poor. In the first room I was in, the door didn't close properly and it had to be pushed and closed manually. As a result, we slept one night with the door open (unlocked). It would be an asset if the bathrooms were refurbished and the beds in the 4-people rooms were a little more comfortable. Also, it would be good if there were hand soap in all bathrooms and it would also be a nicety if there were body soap. I was first in a three-people room and then, in a four-people room and in the bathroom of the second room, there were no curtains for the shower and the water wasn't warm enough. Taking a shower there was a bit of a challenge!
Location: The location is definitely an asset! It's right at the heart of the city center of Toulouse. You can walk everywhere within the city center. Staff: The staff members are generally very nice and supportive. The customer service is very good.

ColombiaThe bathrooms look clean, but there was a lot of black mold on the roof, as they have no proper air circulation. The beds also were bunk beds with very little head space, so it was difficult to get in, specially the upper bed.
The location of the place is really central and close to major bars and restaurants in the city center. The personal was always very friendly and the hostel in general is clean. In general, I would recommend it!

New ZealandThe bed cabin height was smaller than expected, I’m 5’2 and wasn’t able to sit up straight. The room also smelt damp of mould and the bathroom was worse, one tiny dim light where you can barely see when showering. It also said there were several activities and a family dinner but when I asked the staff said no

The stay was good, I really liked that I was alone the days I was there, there was only one other guest in my room one day, I really liked the place, ideal to rest after a long trip or walk around the city all day and end up exhausted.

GermanyOverpriced: I had a single room for 100 euros. It was not a room that I would pay 100 euros next time... It was a room without windows, where the door served as a window and had glass panels. It was very quiet as it looked at the patio. But there was very often somebody standing by my door smoking, day and night. I hate cigarette smoke, and it was not nice seeing somebody through that transparent door standing quietly smoking by your door. I didn't feel very safe.
Great staff, great kitchen and good common spaces. Located in the very center of Toulouse, 5 min walking to the bus for the airport, and 15 min walking to the railway station. Quiet rooms over a patio. Excellent bathroom.

United KingdomIt was a bit expensive for what you get. My main issue though is with the cubicle I slept in. I was in the 3rd one, meaning on top of the other 2, and the stairs were quite hard to get up on. Also, the cubicle was tiny and painted black, I’m quite small and I still felt claustrophobic in there.
It was in the perfect location, staff was lovely, it was a smooth check in and my stay was comfortable enough. The people i shared the room with were respectful and quiet, and I was lucky with that and was able to have very decent sleep.
