How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Brewing facilities in the room but no milk or even dried milk to go with the coffee and sugar.
The bed and room was clean and comfy. Just a shame there wasn't air con. However we did have a fan which made all the difference. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. The staff were friendly too.

As always the size of the bathroom (box!) but for one night it’s acceptable.
We stay here for one night every year for work purposes. We can easily park our very large van on site and there are several choices of restaurants in easy walking distance. Nice breakfast.

it would be nice to have a bit more space in the room to store luggage comfortably.
We stayed here for a night and had a great experience. The hotel is conveniently located near the city center, with plenty of restaurants and family-friendly activities nearby. Check-in and check-out were quick and hassle-free. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was a nice bonus, and the price was quite affordable.

It was very small.
When we hadn’t arrived close to the office closing they called, gave us the code to enter & left us a key. This is a road side motel for travelers needing a place to sleep. It worked for us as that’s what we needed.

The toilet is too narrow
The hotel is in good location for people who pass through the town like us. It has restaurants and bakery close by. The bed is comfortable. Everything is clean. There is a great bakery next door, a supermarket within few minutes walk and good number of restaurants to choose around.

Too far out of Rochefort.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Rochefort; it is easy to find. It has its own car park on site. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with good facilities. The breakfast was buffet style with good choice. Many shops and facilities nearby.

The shower head in one of the rooms was damaged .
The proximity of a few eateries, the parking area , it was clean and confortable and very good value for money. We travelled with two of our children and the communicating rooms were ideal .

Out of town location rather soulless and only burger chains available within walking distance.Hotel restaurant closed at New Year unsurprisingly as clearly designed for business travellors.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Small room but clean and very comfortable bed. Generous breakfast with good choice.

I could not turn the shower off at night after using it and nobody from reception was available at that time just after 11pm. it kept me awake all night. Also, we arrived at 3-30pm after a long drive from Cherbourg, but could not get into the building until 4-30pm as it was closed, I think possibly only 2 people were running the entire hotel.

The bathroom was very small and the hotel does not open the bar and restaurant from Friday lunch time until Monday lunchtime so there is no food or drink service on weekends. The receptionist was helpful and ordered us a taxi into the centre of Rochefort but we could not get one back at 10pm , fortunately a kind French man who was eating in the same restaurant gave us a lift back to the hotel.
The bed was comfortable and they a kettle in the room so we could have coffee in bed. It was good value for money , you got exactly what you paid for and it was adequate for an overnight stop on the way to the ferry at St Malo.
