Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Beautiful location and views from hotel. The time of year we chose was off-season so the hotel was very quiet. Isabelle, the cleaner, was very nice and opened the sauna for us outside of the usual time.

SpainThere are no shops in the village, bread and food can be bought in the neighboring village (it takes about 10-15 minutes to drive towards Shamani). This is the last village before the border with Switzerland. The online payment method for the room is complicated, we figured it out, but I would simplify it. The check-in itself is also a bit like a quest, keep in mind that the hotel has two wings, which have different names, but have identical room numbers (we wandered around a bit before we found our room).
We spent a wonderful few days in these comfortable apartments. I would like to mention the very comfortable beds, we slept well. Overall, the room was clean. The kitchen is comfortable, there is all the necessary equipment and utensils. A comfortable pool with warm water, there is a sauna. We spent wonderful evenings in them. Wonderful views from the windows, many hiking trails nearby. The train station is nearby. Keep in mind that there are no shops in the village, bread and groceries can be bought in the neighboring village (it takes about 10-15 minutes to drive towards Shamani). The parking is large and convenient, the spaces are spacious, even a minibus and large SUVs (for example, a Chevrolet Suburban) will fit. I recommend this wonderful hotel.

CanadaLast train from Chamonix departed earlier than expected (~8:28pm) on a Friday night, so need to make sure you don't stay in Chamonix too late.
The detailed description provided by the host was perfectly clear. We had no difficulties collecting the property key/entrance to the room. The location was beautiful - we were treated to this location being one of the aid stations for the UTMB and cheered on the runners through the evening. It was lively and exciting. Apart from this race, the location is quiet and relaxing near hiking routes, and obviously skiing in the winter. Also, lots of cyclists traveling through this town - great to see! We would definitely stay here again if we have the good fortune to come back to this region.

PolandIt seems to be (bad) French custom, but they do not run a reception. You need to call with every problem to the service and they will not fix it immediately. Eg. Our door to the room did not close. Also they messed up with reservations and on the third day some other quests tried to enter our room. The swimming pool was closed due to technical reason, but sauna was ok. We stayed there during summer in June. Maybe in winter time the service is more cooperative.
It is a very remoge place, but has relatively good public transport connection and they give you free railway ticket for your stay. Very close to train station. Very close to interesting mountain trails. Quiet. Beautiful views. Boulangerie on the first floor where you can buy fresh bread in fhe morning.

BelgiumWe were traveling outside the holiday season. Lots of facilities (including the swimming pool at the hotel) were not available (e.g. cable lifts, shops, bakery,...). The hotel can use an upgrade (public areas and apartment itself).
Nice appartment with sufficient room. Underground parking is an asset, since it is difficult to park in the area. Despite there was no reception, Happy Rentals host was very responsive via Whatsapp. Also nice was the starters kit upon arrival.

United KingdomWIFI is awful. This is was actually a real problem. We had checked with the venue before travelling, we both needed to work at various times, and were told there was WIFI. I think they should have made it clear that the WIFI doesn't really support proper functionality. When I spoke to the front desk, they acknowledged it is awful WIFI - they should have been more up front about this.
All well organised, ski shop for kids hire, close to the lift, 2 lovely restaurants nearby. Quiet, peaceful family ski trip.

FranceThe room was a little smaller as expected. The sofa bed, was one person, we needed to place the matters on the floor because of its size. Nevertheless also that was then not too bad.
