Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaThe lift didn’t inspire confidence though it did work adequately and the stairs were uneven and some sloped forward which made you feel like you might fall down them. Our air conditioning broke during our stay and was not repaired. Although a fan was provided it did not really cool the room adequately. The location of the property was further from public transport than we expected.
We liked that it was an apartment with an equipped kitchen so we could prepare some of our own meals and there was a supermarket close by. The bed was very comfortable. There was a pantry where we could replenish any of the provided supplies we needed and a water station where we could get cold still or sparkling water.

United KingdomThe only thing we didn't like was the fact that the floor was very dirty, the bathroom was clean and someone was emptying out the trash daily but the bedroom floor was definitely not clean. We were on the ground floor, section 1.
2 min to the nearest supermarket, very close to Metro Volontaire ligne 12. It was quiet and we had a water station and a cupboard with extra tea and coffee at our disposal. AC was present too.

The location is perfect, 5-6 min walk from the closest metro station, in a quiet neighhood with a park view. Room is cozy and good size with nice nature light from the window. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful.

AustraliaI was told that everything is included and paid upfront through booking.com. I was then charged euro 118 extra when checking in. Booking.com or the property will not accept fault and at one point a booking.com agent told me that it will be refunded but then it never came through. Unacceptable!
Extremely Disappointing Customer Service and Misleading Information I spent over three hours speaking with four different agents, only to have my issue unresolved. Despite paying the full amount-including nightly rate and taxes-through booking.com, I was charged an additional city tax of €118 by the property. My booking confirmation clearly stated that the price included “taxes and surcharges” and that “the final price shown is the amount you will pay to the property.” There was no mention of any additional “city tax.” I attempted to resolve this by emailing, chatting, and calling customer service multiple times. One call lasted 1.5 hours before being disconnected, and no one bothered to follow up. Each time, I had to repeat my situation from the beginning, as agents seemed unaware of previous interactions. This lack of continuity was incredibly frustrating. Ultimately, I was told that neither booking.com nor the property could take responsibility for the incorrect information. I explained that it's booking.com's fault because they falsely advertised to me? The agent replied that the property/hotel did not inform them about the city tax. So then I said, it's then the hotel's fault? And the agent said yes I agree but booking.com cannot do anything about it. This is unacceptable. Customers rely on booking.com for accurate information, and they should ensure all charges are clearly disclosed. If anyone is using booking.com they are relying on the information provided by booking.com. How can they just not bother? I have been using booking.com for 15+ years and this is the first time I had a issue with them and needed to contact them but seriously, never again. Also agree with the tactic of asking for different sets of information again and again and not reading any previous interactions or case notes. Pathetic!

United StatesThe main lobby bathroom is very small and lacks a mirror. I dropped off luggage because I arrived early and changing clothes in that bathroom was difficult (and I’m thin!). Not having a mirror also made it hard to refresh my face after a flight.
The location was quiet and lovely (less touristic) and the room was beautiful and small. It was perfectly cozy for 1 person.

PolandThe coffee machine in our room was broken. Also, the water from the tap is undrinkable, but the facility provides a tap at the reception.
We liked the interior design and functionality of the apartment. Everything we needed was in the kitchen and bathroom. Location is good - still a walking distance to Eiffel Tower, otherwise just 5mins away from the metro. Really nice staff who welcomed us in and checked out. We arrived in the morning so we were happy to use the lockers before we got our room.
