Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The A/C is working good. Specially its very hot during that week. Close to the train station around 15 mins walk. The apartment is next to ALDI shop and Mcdonald just across the road.

PortugalDespite the room being clean when we arrived, we could have benefited from more cleaning during our stay The area is overall safe, except in the area near the Barbès - Rochechouart metro station
The room had everything you needed in terms of furniture, from microwave in the kitchen to a towel heater in the bathroom

United KingdomThe area feels a little hostile particularly near the metro station . Local McDonald’s has a security guard. I am not sure I would want to stay here as lone/ only women travellers. But it is really handy for the metro.
Very clean and modern feeling. Key codes made it easy to access.

FranceA few pictures on the walls would just make the apartment more 'homely' but there was nothing to dislike. Our apartment windows looked out onto some flats with no view as such but we expect that in Paris so it was not important to us.
The apartment is in a very good location for the metro and for Sacre-Couer and the rest of Monmartre. It had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. The local area is good for small supermarkets and there are lots of places to have breakfast and for eating out. It is close to the Moulin Rouge and La Cigale for entertainment and is just a short walk uphill to the village and Place du Tertre.

SwitzerlandGreat apartment however under the roof, so you must watch your head at any time. The AC works perfectly and there is a nice kitchenette with a fridge :-). The staircase to get on the third floor is narrow and the entrance door can be better designed.

IrelandCheck-in was at 3pm, but the place wasn't ready, so we had to come back two hours later. We didn't get a response through the app, so we called, but the person we spoke with could have been more friendly and helpful.
The location is very good, close to the metro, with lots of markets and stores just a short walk away. Super convenient and perfect for exploring touristic points in the local area.

Germanyupon arrival, we found that the shower cabin was not washed, the window in the kitchen, and the light flickered all the time in the room, we were booked for 3 people, but there is very little space, far from the center, for such a price and for such small rooms, I rated 7

SingaporeThere is no lift, so it would be rather troublesome for people with bulk luggage. The room number 5, an attic room, has no openable windows for ventilation, even the bathroom is enclosed, so it can get rather stuffy and hot during summer.
The location was good. The check in was pretty easy and fuss free. The room was clean and all the bedsheets were white and spotless. It had all the basic things you would need like shampoo (3 in 1, cheap type) microwave, toilet paper and towels

United StatesNo curtains on window. Very small unit. No artwork on walls. Much too expensive for size. No ambiance or charm. Stairwell clogged up with laundry bags for 2 days. Entrance to bldg was a black door on street with hardly any signage. It was difficult to find. I felt as if I was entering a secret door into a bldg where I could buy drugs or enter into some other kind of shady deal. It was almost scary. Rate was 300 euros a night which friends of mine were paying for an apartment they found on Airbnb in Pigalle that was large and goegeous. Residence Clignancourt should have been 150 euros a night.
Good bed and pillows. Bathroom small but fine. Plenty of towels and hot water. Excellent AC.
