How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room and property was very comfortable. Rob is a legend and messaged us to make sure everything was alright with clear instructions - very responsible. Position is great relatively close to the beach / town. Recommend!

The beds in the loft are small and thin but comfortable enough.
The atmosphere was fantastic, Robert is super welcoming and the common areas are very homely. The bathroom is recently renovated and very nice.

Robert, was very friendly and always nice to chat with. Gave me a lot of advice for surfing and the ins and outs of the area. Really great stay! The facilities are really good, big bathroom and kitchen, and a very clean hostel. Overall a great stay and would definitely recommend to solo travellers!

Very comfy, felling like home with Robert and his family. Really good social time. I arrived a bit late, but he texted me all the instructions about how to checking in by myself. I will come back for sure for some weekends on leisure time. Really good place and very good atmosphere with other guests too.

Excellent. The host was great and easy going. The set up was lovely. Beds comfortable. The shared kitchen spacious and extended into a communal area with an adjoining TV chill room. Outside has a great decking area. Felt at home and the other guests felt that vibe as well. Nice to be part of it. The place is in a great location for the local beaches. Highly recommended. Will stay agian.

Only one bathroom, oftentimes occupied during the day because it was shared by the occupants of 3 different rooms. Notwithstanding, we were always able to use it within a reasonable time, and this is pretty common for every hostel / shared house.
The host was always asking how things were going, making sure we were having the best time. The kitchen was more than fully equipped. The price was fair. The host was taking care of the property on a daily basis (cleaning, keeping things in order, you know, not every client is well behaved). Good location. Possible to have a BBQ.

It was perfect!
Nice family atmosphere, quite neighborhood with facilities close by. Well equipped and brand new. Rob was super kind and friendly. He gave use a lot of advices and tips and was open to suggestions to make the house even more welcoming.

It was a joy to stay at Chalet Landaise de Surf! We had a relaxing time. The hosts provided wonderful recommendation for day trips and restaurants. We would absolutely recommend. If you do stay, check out Brother's Pizza around the corner for dinner.

Small 90cm wide bed and very simple madrass, im 185 so it wasent very mutch space, low roof also upstairs where my bed is, luckely i did not hit my head, small stairs going upstairs so you have to be abit carefull, i guess in generall if you are abit tall and or bigger it might have a few things to look out for. one toilet downstairs and one upstairs, only shower downstairs and up to 8 people might check out at the same time, could make for a challange but whent ok. internett qr code did not work(that the phone activate it by qr code) so i did not use internett but thats fine for me, didnt really need it, but the qr code has to be copy pasted from the app and some phone like mine dosent allow copy paste, wifi passwords has to be manually written, and this password was so long with letters, numbers and big and low letters i just desided no thanks writing in this manually.
Big kitchen as it is after all a house that is shared, friendly host.
