Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The property was in a perfect central location, very comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed. But most of all, Delphine and Fred were wonderful hosts who took such good care of us and made our stay truly special.

TaiwanThe apartment is well located, convenient and romantic. It’s a 400 year old building, but well maintained and comfortable. Moreover, you will have the best view in town to La Cité Médiévale. Not to mention, the Medieval City is within walking distance. If you book in advance, you will also have a car park within the building. It’s amazing. The apartment is fully equipped, extraordinary clean. Staying at Delf and Fred’s place has been our best ever experience with Booking.com. They have been kind and helpful. They answer our questions in no time. They keep providing us coffee and whatever guidance we need. They have made our time in Carcassonne beautiful and unforgettable. This apartment is highly recommended. 👍👍👍

United KingdomAbsolutely Nothing
We stayed in this lovely studio apartment for four nights from July 14th, and it was absolutely perfect. The studio apartment was extremely clean, very well equipped, and in the perfect location — close to everything we needed and ideal for exploring Carcassonne. What really made the stay special were the hosts Delphine and Fred — they were so welcoming and kind, often going out of their way to improve our stay, which made us feel comfortable and at home straight away. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting Carcassonne, and we’d definitely stay here again!

Definitely recommended for your visit to Carcassonne! In an amazing location, it’s surrounded by great restaurants and bars whilst still being within easy walking distance to the historic city (10 minute walk). The apartment is well kitted out with everything you might need. Fresh coffee and milk is provided, and the air conditioned rooms made for a great respite in the heart of town during a heat wave. The building is very historic and the apartment we stayed in had been recently renovated to a high standard. Delphine was very helpful and friendly. She met us on arrival, provided recommendations and even dropped us back off at the airport for our return flight. So glad we found this place!

United KingdomThat we had to leave!
We had a fantastic stay at Pelletier du Claux, the apartment is very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed and is furnished to a very high standard. It's in a excellent and quiet location with fantastic views of the old town from the living area and kitchen. It's the perfect place to relax after a days sightseeing. Delphine and Fred are excellent hosts, so very kind and helpful they have thought of everything to ensure a perfect stay. Delphine picked us up from the train station, provided information about the area and restaurants, even cooking us pancakes for breakfast on our last day. They really did make our stay a memorable one. I would definitely recommend the apartment, we would love to return too! Thank you both for a great visit.

AustraliaNothing. Literally nothing.
Incredibly good experience here. 1. We couldn’t work out where you could be located that would be better than here. Minutes of foot to literally everything worth seeing. Close up views of the castle and secure parking within building. 2. A beautifully and thoughtfully restored 16th century apartment. You could feel the history as soon as you entered despite the very modern and uber comfort driven touches. The apartment was a passion project and you could tell! 3. Host Dephine was wonderful and couldn’t have done any more to make us feel welcome. Their communication was excellent up to and during our stay and her dinner recommendation was bang on. Overall, it was nice to stay somewhere hosted by a local who still gets a buzz out of looking up out of her windows at the Castle ramparts. This is no small thing as it doubles down on the authenticity of the locals connection to their history and make you feel like you’re being welcomed into it as opposed to simply being profited from as a tourist.

United StatesNothing, everything was great.
The owners, Delphine and Fred, were very friendly and accommodating. Delphine was even kind enough to pick us up at the train station when we arrived, and later, to take me to the car rental agency to pick up our rental car. As for the apartment we rented, Delphine and Fred own and live in this huge building that is probably several hundred years old, and Fred has done a remarkable job fixing it up and carving two updated and comfortable rental units out of it. We rented the studio, which consisted of an entry foyer where the toilet room is located, a bedroom with a king-sized bed and flat screen TV, a bathroom with sink, shower and towel warmer, and a kitchen with a two burner stove top, microwave, refrigerator, a nespresso coffee machine, toaster and a drip coffee maker. There were plenty of dishware, cookware and cutlery. The place is remodeled very nicely, with modern fixtures and appliances. The lighting is great, and everything works. There was plenty of hot water, and there were heaters in the kitchen, bathroom and living room, which kept the place toasty as it was still cold when we were there. Also, a washer and dryer were available one floor down. The apartment Itself is up on the 2nd floor (3rd floor in the US), which entails climbing 4 flights of stairs, which should be okay for most folks. It was very quiet with the windows closed, but even with the windows open, there was not much traffic noise from the small street below. There is access to a garage about a block away, available for a small fee and with a reservation. The location was great, just a short walk uphill to the castle, and about a 15 minute walk to the center of town. There were several restaurants, cafes and stores within easy walking distance from the apartment if you didn’t want to walk into town, and there was a small grocery store right next door that had baguettes and croissants every morning.

Absolutely wonderful stay! We were picked up at the airport from the lovely Delphine (even though we told her the wrong time, she still came and got us!), and then driven to the excellent apartment. It's a stunning building, beautifully renovated and featuring everything you need. The location couldn't be better, among all the restaurants and a short walk from both the old walled town and the lower town. And Delphine is a wonderful host, she gave us excellent recommendations and dropped us back at the airport after a late check out. I couldn't have asked for better!

It is difficult to convey how amazing Le Pelletier Du Claux is! Delphine and Fred are such kind, wonderful hosts, who went out of their way to make us welcome. They transported us from and to the station, and bought products in advance to meet special dietary requirements. The building is absolutely charming, in a quaint street, in the shadow of the ancient walls of the city. Once inside the building although it is looking onto the street, the atmosphere is peaceful and restful. The conversion of the building (built in 1602) is very tastefully done, with antiques around. Our apartment was very comfortable, and tastefully furnished. The kitchen dining area was well equipped with everything you could need. The shower room was attractive, with an excellent shower. Delphine made restaurant reservations on our behalf, and recommended places to visit. We would very much like to return to Le Pelletier, and would encourage you to stay there - you won’t regret it!
