Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelA large house in a village a short distance from Narbonne, just off the main street in a narrow dead end that is a bit awkward to get to (or from) with a car, but ultimately perfectly feasible. You have to park across the street at a short distance (maybe 100m), but there is ample space. Just watch as you cross on foot - the main street has lively traffic. You get a spacious old-fashioned room with equally spacious bathroom, a key to the side door to go in and out as you please, a generally rustic country decor throughout, a wonderful little garden with decorative fish in a little fountain and colourful and chatty lovebirds in a netted enclosure, and a cute little dog named Chou-Chou for company. Wifi works in both the room and the garden. The very welcoming hostess, Marie Pierre, recommended and kindly booked a very good local restaurant a few minutes' walk away along the main street, and in the morning prepared an excellent (typically French) breakfast. It may be a bit remote for a long term base, but for one night while driving around the country it beats staying in town.

IrelandWe were served every morning with a selection of breads, fruit, preserves, cheese, fresh juice. We also had some lovely pancakes and scrambled eggs. Our host was so helpful, nothing was a problem. The room was so beautiful looking out on the garden, we woke to the soft sounds of the fountain and birdsong. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

United KingdomHaving to leave!
What a wonderful place to stay with all the comforts, advice on where to go for sights, wines and restaurants, and delicious breakfast (homemade juice, jams, lemon cake, and yoghurt as well as fresh croissants and baguette). Big comfortable bed, large airy rooms, and beautiful gardens with a plunge pool. Lovely hosts in Marie-Pierre & Phillipe, along with Lou-Lou, the attentive King Charles Spaniel. We will be back!

CanadaThe only challenging bit was the parking. Like most small French towns, the lanes and alleys aren't really built to accommodate a lot of vehicles. The good news is that there's a new parking lot being constructed just up the road - which will solve a lot of the parking struggles in the town.
Hosts Marie-Pierre and and Phillipe were wonderful. We used this place a a base for a number of day trips in the region and they always had helpful ideas, advice and recommendations. The breakfast each morning was great, freshly squeezed orange juice, home made croissants, jam and sweet breads, and of course coffee. Our room was large, comfortable, with a great bed, overlooking the sensational terraced garden and the pool - what a great place to wake up every morning. We were a bit concerned with the heat of the day and no AC that the room might get hot & stuffy. But with good windows and shutters it was no problem at all...it was cool and great for sleeping. Overall it was a really great stay and we'd happily stay there again when we return to the south of France

United Kingdomno drawers for clothes only a wardrobe, would have preferred kettle in room for tea and coffee but both minor points
We were visiting friends nearby and this was the perfect base. Very welcoming hosts, huge and beautiful room with a view to the lovely garden. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was great - something different and extra every morning. If the weather had been better the garden would have been fantastic to spend time in - a little oasis in the village

GermanyThere is a fountain in the garden and doves liked to pay it a visit at least twice a day. Nothing else really.
Nice old house with beautiful garden. Large room with windows to the garden hence very quiet. Breakfast was typical French (croissant, café) plus a bit such as self-made jam and brioche or cake. No problem to have lunch or dinner in the garden. A small selection of wines is available in the guests's fridge. Good location to explore the various places around. While there is no private parking on the premise there are plenty of options around.

AustraliaSaint Marcel is a very drab town. We booked it for access to the Canal Du MIdi and Minerve and Nabonne There may be better options You will need a car and unfortunately the surrounding streets are narrow and parking is very difficult. Palmier Cache is located in a narrow lane. No parking nearby in the five days we were there. Avoid the host’s garage. We have the first damage to our car after 8 weeks and 4000km trying to exit it. Only one good restaurant in town
Very friendly hostess and a good sized room although it was on the top storey. Lots of stairs. Breakfast was excellent. Palmier Cache itself is good value for money but the location is difficult to access Do visit La Somail. A gem of a village on the Canal Du Midi with five or six restaurants and best if all their famous bookshop.
