Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe rooms were not soundproof, and so it was quite noisy. The beds were too hard and not very comfortable.
Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. The room was perfect for a two-night stay, and was in an excellent location to the beaches and restaurants.

United KingdomIt is a fantastic location, literally a 3 minute walk from the station and around the corner from the beach, shops and restaurants. The staff were lovely and helpful and the bed was very comfortable. It's a great price so don't expect chic opulence, but definitely clean and absolutely adequate ... but a bit of a squeeze. It wasn't a problem though. The stairs up to the 3rd floor are a bit of a workout with luggage so something to be aware of if that's a problem and ask for a 1st floor room.

United Kingdom1st. The man on reception speaks French only. A strange man. 2nd. You can't switch off the AC. I did set it on maximum temperature 32 °C and opened the window. The room was still too cold at night when I was sitting down and sorting out things on my tablet etc. I have got sick on the following days with cold symptoms. The worst is - when I have to run around the town searching for a toilet because of a sudden urgent need, every hour or more often. I don't have that problem usually. I'm a white European, age 63 with a lot of travelling experience. I'm from a Northern country. 3rd. There isn't a holder fitted for the shower head in any of the rooms. You have to hold it in your hand. Some strange rule. 4th. No soundproof. You can hear what's happening outside and what other people are doing inside. 5th. You can't leave your bags for any length of time after the check-out. I have been travelling around South of France since last year staying in probably 40 hotels. I do leave my 2 small bags because there are no lockers or left luggage offices in stations as a rule. Luckily there is one in this town. 6th. Before my check-out a lady was called in the reception because she spoke a little English. I spoke to her regarding my complaints. She just dismissed them. During my check-out a little later I asked to leave my 2 bags. She and the man were making a bed in 1 room. She just said: "It's closed! Bye." What a Good bye.

ItalyOld and not well maintained facilities, dark moquette on the bedroom floor that did not look very clean and is not easily cleanable in general, dark colour towels so impossible to thoroughly inspect their cleanliness, found hair on one pillow. Staff could not speak a word of English which is not acceptable for such a famous and international location as St. Raphael, nor they did anything to make me feel welcome, check in was not easy for just a 15 minutes delay due to a late train, breakfast was very bad and very overpaid.
Optimal location very close to train station and to the beach. Passable for a one-night stay if willing to avoid the very high average prices of Cote d'Azur.

PolandThe worst stay on the Riviera ever. The room, charged 100 euros per night, was small, the bed was not long enough - I couldn't stretch on the bed as it was 170 cm long and I am 168 cm. My feet were touching the iron bedstead. The paint on the wall needs refreshment. The kettle in the room was not operating properly and even if I asked to change it, the new one was the same, taken from another room. The wardrobe in the room dates back to a few decades backwards, not closing properly. The bathroom needs refreshment - the shower has a plastic curtain instead of a door, so water spreads all around. The view from my room (n°11) was on air conditioning of all the guests, very loud and noisy during the day and at night. Also, the noise insulation needs something to be done - every passage of a guest could be heard, and any visit to the toilet / shower of a neighbor was audible, waking me up at night. The staff avoided contact with guests, hiding in their private premises. I couldn't even change after the beach in a guest toilet after giving up the room in the morning. The result : I had to change from beachwear to ordinary clothes in front of the glass front door. I couldn't use the toilet, either. Not very welcoming. The owner also refused to agree to take the key from me on the last day at 7.30 so I had to wait until 8 o'clock. I have only bad memories of this stay and I do not recommend this hotel to anybody.
Only location, nothing else.
