It smelled cigarettes in the bathroom all the time because of the ventilation (probably from the smoking room). Mold in the shower. Very poor noise isolation. Very hard to find the right entrance at night.

We stayed in the residence building. The decor is quite plain and minimalistic compared to the main building. We would suggest to add some chairs to the balcony or otherwise you cannot take advantage of the huge outdoor space. The bathroom needs a tool to dry the floor after shower.

Since there was no à la carte restaurant available, we preferred to dine in other places. The buffet in the morning could have offered a wider choice, espresso is not included, and sometimes the staff was making quiet a lot of noise, when arranging the plates and cutlery.

We were upgraded at our arrival and had a wonderful suite in one of the towers in the old part (the castle part) of the hotel. It is nicely furnished with an elegant touch and the staff was always very helpful. Though situated near the town square, the hotel is quiet, while a good number of restaurant and bars are at a short walking distance.

make sure you get a room in the main hotel block rather than the annex behind. entrance can be difficult to spot.

It can be tricky to find the entrance because it's right in the centre of much of the social activity in Ile Rousse.

The Hotel Napoleon has beautiful, large rooms, is situated right in the centre of Ile Rousse, about 50 metres from the beach, has plenty of parking, a scarce commodity in the centre of many Corsican towns, the breakfasts have masses of variety to suit all tastes and a large swimming pool. This is undoubtedly my favourite hotel during my Corsican holiday, so much so that I returned there for another couple of days at the end of my time. The young staff were well trained, friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately all the roads around the hotel were closed for a sports event when we arrived and it was very difficult to reach the front desk for directions to the back/delivery entrance

It’s not how on the picture. The main road was closed to get in the parking. The room where we stayed was very close to an other room and you could hear all the noise what the neighbours did. No water pressure in the shower. Bathroom needs a refurbish.

Point is that my NPS would be around 6 or 7. Why : Mainly because I felt really like I didn't belong to the place. I don't care if they are foreigners at the hotel, I really don't. But I care that the whole personnel in contact with me speaks the country's language, for me and my kids. Otherwise what is the point of bringing people from all around the world for your staff if it's not to learn French? Moreover their carbon footprint is ridiculous rather than having locals. Although, I'd appreciate that the habits of the hotel are more in line with the Mediterranean way of life : - a pool closing at sunset - more tapas or "apéro" at the pool - a cleaning personnel schedule not so early starting The room comfort was ok but the AC was so noisy. Basically I understand that you're more a club for Scandinavian people, fair enough. Though, when you open the bookings to other customers, you must deliver them something different as they are, indeed, different.

The overall impression is good and I cannot say that the hotel is anyhow really bad.

There were not enough sun loungers by the pool and guests got up early to ‘save’ loungers with towels which was frustrating. Although we had booked a superior room we were initially given a room in the rear block overlooking the road which was dark and unwelcoming. We moved to a room in the main block after 2 days which was much better. There were often periods when it was difficult to find any staff as the reception was not always maned.

Location and public areas were excellent. Easy parking. The rooms we were given finally were very good but we had to request a move from the original room allocated which was very poor.

Exceptionally well designed hotel with a fine room with sea view (main building). Excellent breakfast & very friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Beautiful beach only 250m away, pool also cool. Tours also offered as well as dinner (tried neither).
