How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The hotel was at least half empty, so we were surprised not to be offered a free upgrade.
The hotel location is excellent, in easy walking distance from the very small city center. Room was fine - quiet, clean, although somewhat small. The fresher was better than in most hotels, the air-conditioner was very good. Breakfast was very good. We had dinner at the hotel. The menu was small (with a Tai chef it's safer to order the wok).

Fabulous location, comfortable and spacious room, a small fridge, several free soft drinks and water. The food in the restaurant was superb and the wines affordable. I would stay here again.

Right opposite the station and around a 10 minute walk into the heart of the City. An open park fronting the canal sits right outside the hotel. Really friendly welcome.

Limited menu in restaurant.
Ideal location close to the centre of Mulhouse and across the road from the main transport links. Good on site restaurant.

Could not lower the temp in the room, very warm. Had to sleep with window open. Hotel has central heating and air con set to 24-25 deg when it was 22 deg. Far too warm.
Close to centre for shopping within walking distance. Secure parking, although very tight.

we were not advised about the renovation being carried out when we booked
Location very close to station and the city centre. Unfortunately the hotel was scaffolded when we were there and the park between the hotel and the station had been dug up. Otherwise, it was lovely. Also, the free seniors breakfast was a pleasant surprise

The receptionist was rude and argumentative. I was the leader of the group and had booked a table reservation for group dining months in advance, However, when we went to the dining hall, the receptionist said we had no group reservation! I showed her the email confirmation, but we were told the Mercure had no dining for our group. We went to the local Brasserie and had a great meal. My advice is to stay in a hotel outside of the city, because the traffic is a nightmare when navigating to the hotel. We will not be booking this hotel again.
We had underground secure parking for our group's motorcycles.

The pillow was not very confortable, was too soft, but the bed was very good. Also, at the breakfasr table, it could be usefull a small bucket where the egg shells, grape seeds, napkins, etc can be collected instead of putting them on or near the plates.
Location is perfect, just vis a vis the train station. Quiet hotel. The view to the Mulhouse cathedral was fantastic. Very god breakfast.

Right next to the city center and the train station. rooms are comfortable and very clean. the hotel has a parking garage which is very convenient if you're arriving with a car like I did. hotel has a restaurant for dinner with great food.

The A/C wasn’t cooling enough even at 5 degrees & the fan was noisy. The shower soap dispenser was empty, & bathtub wasn’t cleaned properly; had hair on it!

Very tired room for a superior room in fact we doubted that it was a superior room looked and was the size of a standard room .
We stayed before at this hotel hence returning again. Sadly the room we were in this time was by far different from before, very tired small, but for one night was okay.
