Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room itself was superb, but we could not find any instructions about how to operate the coffee machine or the TV - neither of whicher functioned for us. Particularly disappointing was the quality and range of the breakfast, which, for what was on offer, was for us, overpriced. The facilities in the room were extensive, but there we coould not find any instructions about how to make either the coffee maker of the TV to work - but fortunately, we always bring a kettle with us, and so we were not inconvenienced for hot drinks, and the YV was of minor consideration for us
The Maritonnes goes back a long, long way for us: we first stayed there in the 70's!!, and it was a delight to visit the hotel again: lovely large bed and bathroom, and wonderful grounds. The restaurant in particular was superb, both in food quality and service, in lovely surroundings. Staff were very helpful and accommodating.

AustraliaNo glass wine, nor a bottle opener in the room, a bit odd when you stay in a wine region. We had dinner at the restaurant and we took the 60 Euro menu. Being a Georges Blanc manage restaurant we were expecting a exceptional service and food, but the all experience was average for this kind of establishment.
The premium room was very nice and large with a balcony facing a small garden. Can be a 4 stars accommodation.

United KingdomHad to upgrade room to new building, because of bad smell in corridor . And really didn't liked bath in the bedroom. Air conditioner/heater controls are really annoying. They so bright it's hard to sleep, like sleeping with light on. At night was trying to cover up with towel. Pool overcrowded.
Location, Gardens and its nice that they accept dogs. Restaurant food was really good, at restaurant they mixed my main, but quickly replaced with original order. Good for short stay going between cities.

United KingdomA small thing, but a kettle in the room would have been good.
The staff here are very friendly and hospitable. The room was clean and comfortable, and very well located on the ground floor to walk the dog in the garden. Tesla and other electric chargers in the parking area was also a bonus. Nice restaurant, very conveniently on site. The spa was lovely overlooking the vineyard.

United KingdomThe room decorations are now a bit scruffy - particularly the floor parts of which are splintering. On departure, we were asked about our stay and were advised that the solution would be to book into one of the more expensive new rooms next time. Big goods trains pass behind the gardens regularly during the night and some people may find this too noisy. In fact with the double glazing in the room and air conditioning on, this was not a problem for us.
Lovely setting in a small park with mature trees and backing onto a vineyard owned by the hotel. Comfortable room, that is starting to look a bit tired. Excellent restaurant. Good wine list of local wines. Very efficient restaurant staff. Very friendly and helpful new manager. New swimming pool, part indoors and part outdoors - good for cooling off but not large enough to swim more than three strokes.

United KingdomI've been coming for many years and the bedroom is now starting to look a little tired and the mattress is less comfortable. When I commented on this, I was advised to stay in the bigger more expensive rooms in the new extension next time.
Great location and friendly staff. The restaurant offers a good choice of well-prepared dishes, and it particularly good to have a choice of interesting local wines by the glass.

United KingdomBooked this hotel solely for the convenient location, and of course it is conveniently located near a high speed train line. Surroundings / grounds were not as generous and restful as the photos indicated. It doesn't generally exude an air of comfort or luxury and seems more like a standard chain hotel, therefore it is slightly overpriced.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My dog was allowed to come into the restaurant.

United KingdomThe restaurant/bar and the staff. We had to search for staff to get a pre dinner drink. They were unhelpful. Moving in to dinner we were struck by the same grumpy attitudes from the young and not well trained staff. The food and cooking were not of a standard you expect from a George’s Blanc establishment. The pattern repeated at breakfast, albeit from an older competent lady. Empathy was in very short supply. This was our third, and probably last visit. The decline is palpable.
Excellent hotel, hi-tech bathroom, efficient a/c, good location.

Netherlandson booking they said they had many (sport) activities. non of it is true… is asked for bowling in the booking chat and they told me we don’t have to make a reservation for it. when we arrived, they told us there was no bowling, squad or anything. the only option was to drive 30 minutes to Macon. So if activities like sports is important for you, then don’t choose this accommodation. for my opinion it is a bit of misleading from booking.com and i think they must do something about it.
The spa was great and the location between the vineyard and the room as well.
