Maya was extremely friendly hostess and gave lots of advice where to go in Avignon. The breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious and calm.

We missed having a mini-fridge nearby and the possibility to make coffee and tea ourselves. There was a small sitting room, very charming, that could have been used for this purpose. Would have been perfect. Also, the neighborhood is not great, but it is not far to walk into the city center. The house itself is very nice.

The room size and furnishings were very nice. Breakfast was simple and a bit late, but when we requested other things and an earlier time, it was provided. Maya is a delightful person and was always ready to assist us.

I was glad we took a cab from our train station as without knowledge of the area it may have been difficult to find.

It was a lovely breakfast of Swiss cheese, bread, jams and fruit along with coffee tea and juice. The breakfast room and table was meticulously set. It was a really nice setting.

Maya is an excellent host! She is friendly, kind and helpful with suggestions for you time in Provence. Her home is beautiful and well-decorated. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is ideal. It's close to the attractions, restaurants and shops of Avignon and also close to the train station. Breakfast is very good too. We had a great 6-night stay at Maison Velvet!

What we didn’t like is, Booking.com’s room details, of properties they list. In most cases where we booked with booking.com we found that what are listed on the “room details” are not accurate. This is very misleading and should be audited. For instance - if there is no air-condition don’t list is as available - this is just 1 example.

The breakfast was good and excellent service provided by the host. The location is about a 15min. walk from the train station. The centre of the old town is about a 10 min.walk with lots of smaller restaurants about 5 min. away from the property.

Everything is perfect！ I had a memorable and wonderful vacation at this hotel. The hotel was located in a quiet residential area but it’ s easy to go to the restaurants and shops etc., Also I felt very relaxed as if I was staying at home. I really come back to Avignon and this hotel!

The taxi driver from the train station let us out in front of a building with the number we were looking for BUT, it was two streets away from where we were supposed to be dropped off. Advice to travelers: Use your cell phone (Google Maps) to follow the driver's path to your intended destination.

EXCELLENT!! Maya, the proprietor of Maison Velvet was a better than excellent host. When our taxi driver dropped us off at the wrong address, she intervened via the Booking.Com app to help us meet up with her. What a great lady!! She also personally set up for us a wonderful and filling petit dejeuner each day of our visit. Not only that, she enquired how our Avignon experience was turning out and offered extremely valuable tips on getting around and getting things done. Our trip would have been so much less fulfilling without her!

It was all good.

The location was wonderful -- away from the crowds but close to everything. Two streets of great restaurants were just a few minutes walk away. And the host Maia is a love. One of the days I wasn't feeling on top and she came up to the room with a kettle so I could make tea. She's just thoughtful and kind in general. She's also very knowledgeable if you need suggestions or feedback on plans.

No AC. Was told only switched on from July even though 34c that week. Eventually agreed to switch on but was requested that we only used at night when we had to. Bed matress was hard, my partner didnt get any sleep. Terrace had no view and very unloved space. Loud traffic noise heard from room from vehicles from about 5am. My partner did not like being reprimanded for putting her small clutch bag on the bed when first shown to the room. Being continuously reminded this was the hosts home and the host generally lacking warmth. Pre ordering if you want breakfast next day.

Room size was decent if a bit dated. Location is fine as Avignon is small anyway. Room was clean. Host was very informative about the area.

Mrs. Maya was by far the best factor of our stay. Kind, warm and quick to help. She is excellent. The location is very good, the beds are good, everything is clean and well. I'd recommend anyone looking for a place to stay in Avignon staying with mrs. Maya.
