Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe reviews are well deserved. The gite is wonderfully positioned on a quiet lane with views to the mountains. For cycling enthusiasts, the accommodation provides an exceptional base to explore the famous climbs of the area. The gite is finished to a high standard, and Guillame is a warm and friendly host who has thoughtfully ensured everything is provided. Evenings on the terrace were a delightful reward for the day's efforts. We look forward to returning in the future.

United KingdomGuillaume, the host is fabulous and very kind. The gite was beautifully decorated and had absolutely everything you could need. The views of the mountains are stunning. Bourg is a 10 minute walk down a steep hill. It's good to walk the tartiflette off on the return. I could have stayed forever. To ski Les Arcs is a 5 minute car journey to the funicular.

United KingdomNothing.
This property and the host are absolutely exceptional! The photos and description do not do this place justice. It is spacious, beautifully equipped and very comfortable. Really comfortable beds and very quiet so great sleep was easy. The kitchen is very well equipped and an absolute pleasure to use. We received a wonderful welcome pack for our week’s stay which was all put to good use. Parking at the property is right at the front door - plenty of room for a large vehicle. We used the house for a ski trip and drove each day to the funicular railway car park- no trouble parking there and it is cheap (€3.60 all day). Trains quick and easy up to Arc 1600. The only consideration you must give is that the property is up a hill and if the snow comes in you will need at least winter tyres to travel up and down. Snow clearance in Bourg Saint Maurice is excellent though. Bourg itself has everything you need in abundance and is a charming town. You can walk down to town in an easy 15 mins. Our host Guillaume was so friendly and helpful. He is a true gentleman and made a fantastic stay at a wonderful property even better.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing!
We had an unforgettable stay at this charming cottage in France for a week of skiing over New Year. The cottage is spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and incredibly well-equipped, offering everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent, just a 15-minute walk from the centre of Bourg-Saint-Maurice and the funicular, making it convenient for skiing and exploring the area. However, the cottage is situated up a steep hill, so if you're not driving, we’d recommend renting a ski locker for added convenience. The hosts were exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive. They went above and beyond, from greeting us with a thoughtful welcome gift of wine, truffles, cheese, and pasta, to providing extra touches like blankets to protect the windscreen from frost. The garage had toboggans and bum boards for the kids to enjoy, and the hosts' communication throughout our stay was superb. As a sweet surprise, they even left the kids a parting gift to remember the holiday by. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The cottage was perfect, the hosts were beyond accommodating, and the location made our skiing holiday effortless. We’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy, well-equipped, and welcoming home base in the French Alps. We can’t wait to return!

Absolutely everything. You will not find a better place to stay than this. The attention to detail is amazing and you will not find a single fault. The owner says he has made it such that it feels like home and you really feel this. He is extremely helpful and very informative. This is really a 5 star place.

United KingdomThe host, Guilluame was fantastic, waiting patiently for our late arrival. He was quick with the explanations and gave us great tips to make the most of the area. After a very long drive from the UK, we highly appreciated the cheese, saucisson, wine and beer. The property is very well furnished and clean. The bathrooms and kitchen are modern and will equipped. The lounge dinning area is spacious and relaxing. Plus it was great to use the garage and the EV charger, reducing the number of charging stops on our homeward journey back to the UK).

NetherlandsIt’s good to know that when you go skiing a car is very convenient for this area.
The house was beautifully decorated and the host was very welcoming. Also, when traveling with four people you really have enough space in the house for everybody.

United KingdomJust the perfect Alpine getaway, set in a small enclave just above Bourg Saint Maurice. Guillaume and his wife have thought of absolutely everything in the beautiful Gîte de Ruisseau. Presented to an extremely high standard with the most fabulous views of the mountains. The deck area is perfect for sitting out on a summer evening with comfortable chairs, dining table and of course a bbq. The hosts live close by should you need anything though are always respectful of your privacy. The many restaurants in town are just a short walk down the hill and the area is perfect for cycling, hiking or just chilling out in the summer and of course all the usual winter sports when the snow comes. So good we’re already planning our return.
