Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe bare bedroom walls and all the grey doors, minor things which would just have added a splash of colour and given a better ambiance.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The owner was exceptional in all our conversations, polite, humorous, and friendly. The food was wonderful, especially the evening meal. The bathrooms, bed linen and towels were very clean. The garden was beautiful and it was lovely to eat out there. The dog was very cute.

Rural scenic and completely out in nature, great location for my bike packing trip through the mountains with wonderful staff, who kindly cleaned my cycling kit. The dinner was average but the breakfast was lovely.

Quiet rural location with wonderful staff and food. Easy parking outside the Hotel. Great value home cooked dinner and breakfasts provided. Loved we could sit outside on the front terrace and enjoy a pot of tea or a drink. Friendly atmosphere encourages the meeting of different travellers - hikers, cyclists and nature lovers. It’s a beautiful quiet part of France to visit with many scenic drives and hikes nearby.

A very rustic hotel, even the bedside tables were sawn off logs. Very friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast and evening meals. In a beautiful location. Comfortable bed.

United KingdomThe rooms are practical and comfortable offering all facilities needed albeit located in a rather drab and uninspiring corridor reminiscent of a 1970's budget hotel.
The food was excellent food and whilst the choice of menu was limited it was well presented, tasty and appropriately French. The location in the foothills of the Pyrenees is stunning and a great base from which to explore.

United KingdomWe were on a touring holiday in the Pyrenees and Maison d'Hoursentut was in an ideal location for our purposes. The hosts were warm, welcoming and helpful which made for a lovely atmosphere. This is simple, unpretentious accommodation which had all we needed. There was a great value set menu in the evening which we really enjoyed. It is set a little off the beaten track in the mountains and was very quiet overnight. If we passed this way again we would be happy to return

AustraliaThe place shows its age and the rooms were a bit small with head height restricted in some parts of the room due to the attic windows.
The accommodation was quiet and rural and the hosts were friendly, organizing pleasant meals for us. Good location for exploring Col du Tourmalet region.

United KingdomIt wasn't that we didn't like it, it just felt a little off, it could have been the dark rooms and showers?
Staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were good. I left my iPod behind, and they kindly rang to let me know.

United KingdomThe black colours made the separate toilet and shower room rather dismal. The towels rather thin and had to ask for face towels (face cloths were provided though) Kettle would have been good in the room. Apart from shower gel no toiletries.
The two ladies were charming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine but after 3 days there was not much variety, The room pleasant but a bit spartan. Location quiet and by a lovely stream. Very easy access to the mountains and Pic de Midi. Comfortable bed.

United KingdomNo WiFi in the room but sitting in the dining room to use it was fine.
This place is lovely. Staff were so friendly. The food at breakfast was fresh and varied. The evening meal was exceptional. The parking is on the unused road outside so fine. The scenery was spectacular. The property was quite old and full of character. The gardens were extensive and left a bit rustic which suited the atmosphere exactly. The room was large and very comfy and so quiet, with a mountain stream outside which was all I could hear. I used the WiFi in the dining room which was fine by me.

United StatesWe had an exceptional stay at this property. Arrived on bikes and were welcomed early in the afternoon, well before formal check-in time. We happened to be the only guests that day and were given top-notch service. We had dinner and breakfast at the property and enjoyed both (especially the salmon tartare served at dinner). This property is off the main road, on a small country lane and is surrounded by farming and some sheep. We did not hear a noise overnight. There was a secure indoor room where we could secure our bikes overnight. The baby lambs next door were an added bonus.

United KingdomTHE TOILET AND BATHROOM WERE RATHER DARK (PAINTED BLACK FROM FLOOR TO CEILING).
THE ROOM WAS LARGE AND SPACIOUS THE HOTEL WAS IN THE COUNTRYSIDE. WE TOOK THE EVENING MEAL OPTION WHICH WAS A GOOD THING AS THERE WAS ONLY A SMALL VILLAGE DOWN THE ROAD AND WE WOULD HAVE STRUGGLED FOR FOOD. THE BREAKFAST WAS CONTINENTAL AND VERY NICE. THE STAFF AND OWNERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY WITH ONLY A LIMITED AMOUNT OF ENGLISH BUT WE GOT BY.
