Probably one of the best accomodations I have ever booked. Beautiful, clean and confortable. The host also very sweet.

We stayed during an exceptionally hot week in August, and the house is not well set up for hot weather with no fans or air conditioning. Even with closing shutters etc, the upstairs bedrooms are very hot which makes sleeping difficult. There are also a few things that could be more transparent in the listing, which I think are worthwhile making clearer: 1. Linen: yes it is provided, but you will make up the beds yourself. This was unusual (at least for us). 2. Parking: there is a small 4-car public parking next to the house. However, there is no reserved space for residents, so you are competing with other residents, all of the day and overnight hikers who visit the area, and those visiting the laundry opposite or the nearby restaurant. If you cannot get a space, you will need to park further out of the village and walk. We were able to park outside the house less than 10% of the week. 3. House layout: The house is three levels, and the adult bedrooms are on the top level. The stairs to them are very steep, and there is a large wooden beam across the entrance to both bedrooms. This means that if you need to use the bathroom in the night, you will cross the wooden beams and navigate two levels of stairs to reach the bathroom. If you have any balance or mobility concerns, or you don't like to navigate stairs at night, this is not an easy place for you. I provide photos to explain. Finally, and this is not the fault of the host, we had no wifi (and therefore also no smart tv) for the week of our stay. The host tried hard to help with this, but it was frustrating for all.

The kitchen is well equipped and plenty of space. The host (Valentine) is very nice and responsive. The village is unique (for those of us who live in cities) and you are on the lower slopes of the Col de Sarenne for cycling which is great.
