The property was in a time warp. Staff not really around so the welcome was via text.

Don't be fooled. This is not a hotel. It is very definitely a Restaurant-with-rooms. We had just travelled from Spain and a couple of nights in a Melia hotel and the difference was stark. It looked, at first, as though it was closed but a person finally arrived to let us in. Our keys were casually left on the reception counter with no indication as to where the rooms were. All the fire doors were heavily sprung and squeaked like mad, the furnishings were tired as were the bathrooms, but with plenty of hot water. We arrived downstairs at 7.00 expecting at least the bar to be open, only to be told that it was staff supper time and we must wait until 7.30! In the morning, breakfast was minimal and I had the suspicion that last night's bread was warmed over and served. This establishment is clearly run by a chef who cares nothing for his customers, which is a shame as it is a lost opportunity to run a neat boutique hotel with a good Gascon resaurant.

The food in the restaurant was very good, with the exception of soggy vgetables. The location is lovely, set back from a busy road, the rooms we had were at the back and quiet. Sitting on the shady terrace with a glass of wine was calming and a reminder of why we enjoy France.
