Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was not clear to me the complication to park the car when we arrived, as the hotel does not offer one. That said, in the Place Clemenceau which has a super cheap rate of €4 all nitght until 8 am. There are not far also large open air car parks with ridiculously cheap rates, like €3 per day or similar. Again, Pascal at the reception was very helpful in letting us know the options. The hotel is really not new, but it does not feel too tired and definitely is not uncomfortable.
Le Bourbon it is located in a really central place, walking distance from all city centre places to visit. We were welcomed by Pascal, absolutely smashing, really welcoming, helpful and friendly. He also speaks several languages. The room was spacious and the toilet, not modern but really usable. There is good aircon, as the rooms can get hot, we were there in the middle of a heat wave. Breakfast was generous buffet and good, with some lovely baguette and very good coffee. There were works on the square where the hotel is , but it was very quiet at night anyway. Wifi as also very good. Pau is a lovely little city, with great walks and unexpected historical facts, like having been the place where was born the last king that French people loved( the first Bourbon). All in all, a very good stay, Merci Beaucoup Pascal!

RomaniaThe hotel's equipment is old, the rooms also need some renovation. There was construction work going on in the square in front of the hotel, which was a bit disturbing, but this is not the hotel's fault. Overall, we recommend this hotel for 1-2 nights in Pau due to its location.
The accommodation was in the center, close to attractions, terraces and restaurants. We didn't need public transportation, everything was within easy walking distance. The cleanliness was acceptable.

United KingdomThe hotel was very dated, and could certainly do with upgrading. In room facilities were non-existent. The wifi was poor, there was no English language TV channel (just CNN would have been acceptable). In-room tea-making facilities would greatly enhance comfort in the room.
The hotel location cannot be beaten! Right on Place Clemenceau, the centre of Pau, and within walking distance to all the main points of attraction.

FranceReception on first floor not ground floor, noise from revelers in square at night on weekends and in morning for rooms facing the square may be bothersome for some, room was quite small and could be too small for 2 people needing their space (space between end of bed and desk was maybe 6 inches), water pressure not good, one paper square of shampoo and small bar of soap given,
Great location, fast & friendly & helpful check-in, very reasonable price for location, very clean throughout, comfortable bed, air conditioned rooms, elevator to all 4 floors, reasonable price for breakfast (8.30 euro), small room made good use of available space, lots of restaurants nearby

United KingdomSome noise from outside but that was to be expected from location and was not really that much of an issue - it could have been far worse (redeveloping the next door opticians early in the morning didn’t help though). Breakfast options a little sparse even for a cheap continental breakfast, but good enough to start the day with.
Great central location, and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. Room was clean and generally in line with what was expected. Good value for money, just don’t expect the Ritz.

NetherlandsThe manager was extremely kind, despite our slight language barrier. The check-in was smooth. The location is prime with a view over the main square. With the windows closed it was nice and quiet. The airconditioning was great. The hotel style is a bit outdated but does have a real charm. Some minor things could be fixed (loose tile in bathroom, broken frame in hallway etc.) but overall well kept.

United KingdomThe breakfast is overpriced. The air con was not very effective.
The receptionist was superb. He did not speak very good English, and we were limited in French but this did not stop him making us feel very welcome and attempting to engage an interest in us and our plans. Great location too.

The location was great. There was a very good restaurant that was diagonally locarted from the Hotel just across the square. The town had some nice pedestrian streets and shopping areas.
