How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe Spa at the hotel was very nice. There is a booking system so that it is not overcrowded, which worked well. As the pool was outside it wasn't in use- but looked lovely. The food at the hotel was very good indeed. We hadn't signed up for half board, but soon decided to book to eat in the restaurant every night. The half board menu was varied and good value. Also an a la carte menu offered, including fondu and raclette.
Nothing really.

Verified reviewThe hotel was very clean and was close to bars and restaurants as well as having a bar and restaurant on site. It also had a spa with sauna and jacuzzi that was bookable for private use. The kit drying room qas also very useful. The hotel was also only a few minutes walk to the ski bus stop, so we were able to take advantage of apres ski in La Clusaz. The staff were lovely and very helpful.
One of the children's mattresses was a little firm - but Frédéric was very helpful and provided an extra duvet to put under the sheet to make it more comfortable.
Many thanks for your feedback. I'm very harry if you enjoyed your stay. Regards. Frederic

Verified reviewDinner and location were excellent. The nature around the area was beautiful. The steam room was good, and the shower was satisfactory. The massage, especially the deep tissue massage, was awesome. The spa is very modern and clean, and the pool is nice and clean as well. The room was clean, with a good view. The breakfast buffet was okay. There aren't many options for those who enjoy a salty breakfast. There are eggs to boil, homemade jams (the strawberry jam was especially delicious), homemade cakes, muesli, and breakfast cereals. The buffet also includes bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, butter, yogurt, honey, fruity yogurt, orange and apple juice, fruits, a coffee machine, two types of charcuterie, Comté cheese, and more. However, if you are looking for bacon and scrambled eggs, you won't find them.
The staff, except for the cleaning guy, was cold, and the attitude of the lady responsible for the breakfast buffet and dinner service wasn't friendly to customers. It was indeed very strange. She was literally scolding and eye-rolling at customers. When it came to the cheese course for dinner, she wasn't even explaining what cheeses were available. She expected you to figure it out just by looking. When you didn't get it, she got angry. I know French cheese, but I can't always recognize them. At least put a name tag for the ones you serve. When you wanted to ask what it was, instead of answering, she just gave you the cheese. If you wanted to try all of them, I could tell she was annoyed, but it felt like she was annoyed all the time when it came to the guests. I barely saw her smiling at anyone. It felt like someone was holding her there against her will. If she doesn't like her job, she should try something else. I think they need to improve their attitude toward their guests in general since they're in the hospitality business. The customer isn't king in France, but there's no need to make them feel unwelcome. The jacuzzi and sauna need to be warmer. Plastic cups for drinking hot beverages aren't very ideal. The rooms don't have any air conditioning. The standard room is actually called an economy room there, and it's very small. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and small, especially for tall people. The bedding seems very old. The interior design needs renovation. Some may find the shower too small. It is small. If you are overweight, it would be difficult to get in.
Hi, We thank you for this comment, both positive and negative, and we apologize if the welcome wasn't so good. We are very sensitive to the feedback from our customers and concerned about the experience we provide, we will take care for that. I would simply respond to differents points. I will not find excuses for the attitude of the waitress even though we manage people. She is a person invested in her work as is the case for the entire team. We have no obligation to air-condition in our rooms, we are concerned about the ecological impact that this could have, we are in the mountains, the heatwave periods are very short. Finally, we meet the standards of a 3* hotel for the room reception part and as you mentioned, we offer a breakfast with local products, homemade jams and cakes, fresh fruit salads, dinners also prepared by the Chef which is very rare in this category of hotel. Hoping to have answered your comment as best as possible, I remain at your disposal. Wishing you a pleasant summer and good luck The management.

Verified reviewThe spa was lovely, and available to guests at no extra cost - brilliant! The food was delicious, and we had the opportunity to switch menus to raclette, fondue, or tartiflette as we chose. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The breakfast was great, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. A lot of effort went into making guests comfortable and welcome. Thank you!
It was difficult to control the temperature in our room - weather was mild so we got quite hot overnight.
Thanks a lot for your stay and your opinion. Frederic
