How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Verified reviewGood location - 5 min to the beach, lots of restaurants and shops nearby; very big spacious room with large terrace and large L-shaped hallway with build in wardrobes and separate toilet - it was handy as we could leave the pram in hallway, the room was very clean and comfortable with refrigerator and tea/coffee making facility. The room was quiet which is important for me as I am quite noise sensitive Very nice spacious and cosy communal areas - restaurant, bar, hall etc Well maintained outside area/garden Friendly and helpful staff All out needs and requests were met without any hesitation or delays Excellent customer service
The sofa bed was a bit short and narrow. Single bed or foldable sofa would be more comfortable. There is a plenty of space in room for 3 single beds

This hotel was not a hotel it was an old age home. The pictures didn’t match the pictures on the internet. I would never recommend this place to anyone. There was a medical office in the “hotel” since it’s an old age home.

The grounds we dated. The hotel was nice to check -in but if you wanted help to make reservations any where they would not do that. They did however offer recommendations to try ourselves.

Verified reviewSome of the workers were quite rude, I was surprised by it, I couldn’t believe it and this made me have a horrible experience at the hotel. Even one guy with grey hair and a black shirt came to me in a rude and treating tone saying “YOU ARE NOT AT HOMEEE” after I asked for some cutlery.
Dear Mr. Esteban, We are very sorry that your stay did not live up to your expectations. However, we would like to clarify a few points about the altercation with the team during your stay. As in all hotel establishments, access to the bar - like the kitchens - is only permitted to members of staff. It is not customary, as you did, to enter behind the bar to serve yourself without informing our team. When one of our staff politely asked you to leave the staff area, you responded with an intimidating and insulting attitude. The night watchman intervened to tell you to respect the rules of the establishment. We offer single-use bamboo cutlery sets that are normally intended for our takeaway, and available for a small extra charge. Please note that we do not lend out the restaurant's crockery. issue with restaurant and asking for fork to take to the room with the food I was bringing to my sick roommate. She was ill starting on Wednesday evening including through Sunday when we left. It was close to 9:30 closing and I took half of the 3 course meal to her. A female, not the waitress wanted to charge me a euro for bamboo utensils. I had just purchased 33.50 in food. Not happy. I was told by several Antibes Jumelege members that this was a nice hotel. I was part of the delegation that came to Antibes for the 35th anniversary to celebrate with the Mayor, the deputy mayor and the Twinning group our sister city relationship in Newport Beach, CA.

The plumbing was noisy, every time anyone in the hotel used the toilette or taps the noise of the tanks refilling went on for over 5 mins, which in the middle of the night was very annoying.

Verified reviewThe room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice with a good shower. The housekeeping staff were lovely to me and very friendly. I was grateful for the fridge and kettle in the room. Really helpful. I was sadly unable to enjoy the terrace due to my working hours but it was nice knowing it was there and i can imagine a peaceful breakfast or evening relaxing in different circumstances. The gardens and flowers are very pretty to look at.
Unfortunately the first experience of the hotel was marred by a disappointing situation at check in due to a very chaotic and disorganised system whereby the solo staff member was overwhelmed by some Italians. A pair who had been queueing in front then disappeared from the queue - presumably to join another group of Italians who had checked out, - and when it was my turn they then suddenly appeared and started shouting at me, so then the staff menber served them first and she was quite hostile to me during the check in process. I did not feel welcomed at all. Nothing was explained. When I went to go to my room, suddenly the staff member also came to the lift with a friend /or possible colleague of hers who was dressed in casual clothes and they were speaking in a Ukrainian/Russian type language. This friend had been at the check in process waiting for all the guests and it had seemed like they were getting a discounted / free room Ince we were all dealt with. So the atmosphere in the lift was already tense due to the hostile treatment at check in. Secondly, upon entering the room my bathroom sink was broken and that was flooding so that was another disappointment added to the first impression. I called down (to the same girl) and explained and was told nothing could be done and I couldn't have a different room (even though I hadnt asked for a different room) but that the problem would be dealt with the next day. Which it was and I was grateful. But I was unable to wash my hands and clean my teeth in the sink and after an 18 hour day it just felt extra difficult. I explained to the girl I wanted to make a general complaint about the first impression being poor and feeling uncomfortable and unwelcomed there which given.the cost was disappointing. Thirdly- not the hotel's fault - the noise of the guests late at night was quite loud and disruptive especially after 11pm through to 2am when they were up and down in the lift and corridor passing.

Booking.com supposed to match pricing but I attempted to send proof a number of times which never arrived. I could have saved over £100. I will never use them again.

Verified reviewThe location is perfect for families with kids, its in a quite area but nor secluded. It is walking distance from the beach, grocery stores and also to the train station, which is important if you want to visit nearby places like Nice. Cannes etc. The property is well maintained and the staff is super supportive (they went out of their way to help retrieve a personal item after I had checked out)
