Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were in a suite. It would have benefitted from having coffee making facilities. Or even a mini fridge. We found we needed a table to place things on as the bedside tables were tiny and the small desk under the eaves was awkward. We kept banging our heads on the sloping ceilings. There was plenty of room for a useable table. These are all personal preferences.
The property was well located for the centre of Bar-Sur-Seine. There was a super park close by which , as we had a dog with us, was perfectly located. The room we had was obviously newly decorated to a high standard and seemed luxurious. The lift was a great asset as we were on the 2nd floor. The staff were extremely pleasant. The dinner was beautifully cooked and once again to a high standard.

United KingdomI booked the Deluxe Queen Suite and my girlfriend adored it. The room was cosy, clean - just fun and charming. The room was very spacious. The bed was large and very conformable. The shower was fantastic – the free-standing bath was a nice touch too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is right outside and you are a short drive or walk from the town centre. The hotel restaurant is also fantastic; the food is excellent. We’ll make sure we stay here again in the future if we are ever down that way in France again.

United KingdomBar sur seine, not worth a visit but if you do then definitely stay at this hotel.
The hotel staff are lovely. Pizza van right opposite with tasty food too, and v reasonably priced there if you didn't want to pay the hotel food prices.

United KingdomThe village of Bar Sur Seine is quite sleepy and didn't offer anything much outside the accommodation.
Off street parking right outside was useful. We were allocated a very large room with a large modern walk in shower / wet room. Overall the room was very good indeed.

United KingdomOnly thing we didn't like was having to leave, could have sold up and lived down there.
We only stayed one night, our aim was to visit Essoyes, only a few miles away, on our way back from Chamonix to Dunkirk. And glad we did it is a lovely spot, very quiet but a beautiful village with quaint shops and bars. It is a more rustic area than the usual tourist spots, with wonderful old buildings and narrow streets and a few shops and bars, so expect to tryout your 'French' language skills, mine aren't great but we managed. Wonderful spot.

Superb hotel with free outside parking, very comfortable and quiet rooms, excellent restaurant and very good breakfast. Very attentive staff. All this at a very reasonable price, so it would be hard not to be pleased. I visited Les Tonnelles restaurant twice in the past 4 years, but this was my first stay at the hotel. Their local "andouillettes" are, to my taste, the best I've ever had, and I'm an "andouillette" fan.

United KingdomI do not like leaving my car in the street even though it was by the front door of the hotel. We always have some stuff left in the car so like a secure parking arrangement.
Room was excellent but could not work out the air conditioning and heater so some noise through the night. Bar and restaurant were good.

United KingdomBreakfast was very limited due to lack of buffet serving areas, but good quality croissants, pains au chocolat, fresh bread, cold meats and cheese. No hot food available such as fried food, toast or boiled eggs. Not hot drinks facility in the room. No fridge or cold water in room. We felt the price of €14.90 per person was high and would have expected this to have been offered in the price of the room when evening meals and drinks were taken.
The hotel is well situated about 10 minutes drive from the A5 autoroute for access to the Shuttle channel crossing. It is only 4 hour's drive from hotel to the terminal and is an ideal stopping off point for an overnight stay travelling from the Cote d'Azur to the UK. Easy to find, we could park in the public bays in front of the hotel at no charge. Situated in a quiet area on the outskirts of the town for a quiet night. Bar with good selection of beers and cocktails. Restaurant serves high quality local food with two fixed price menus, 2 or 3 courses. The €27 menu was ample and delicious. The restaurant was full of local families on the Saturday night so booking was essential. The bedroom was large and well furnished, accessed by good sized lift. Large comfortable bed and large en-suite shower and toilet. WIFI was easily available in the room. Plenty of charging points for phones and other devices
