Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLeaving!
Great value for money, researched and booked rooms 203 and 204 in main building on second floor which were quiet when windows closed but also gave us the view of the water/mud flats. Yes the rooms were small but sheets crisp, bathroom modern and we were on MSM for the night so what else do you need! Great service and restaurant suggestions from Bastian at front desk.

FranceThe room size is limited.
Overall it was a nice stay, the room is quite small though and pricey. We’re satisfied on their breakfast. The staffs were friendly. I suggest choosing a room with bay view. Breathtaking. Will definitely go back during low season.

United KingdomThe room was below level - but had good windows / light as looked out onto a back courtyard - but scruffy in places, but had a view of the ramparts / people walking past on those & sky!
The room, and adjacent bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was plentiful in a restaurant not far from my downstairs room (no.2)

United StatesBathroom is very small, but that’s sort of expected in these old buildings. Breakfast was a buffet and flies were crawling all over the food. Very unappetizing.
Location was relatively close to the entrance of the Mont and didn’t require climbing lots of stairs. Rooms were clean and staff friendly.

CanadaThe exhaust from the restaurant is directed to the only lane going to our building. Every time we go out or go back to our room will get a full blast of the restaurant kitchen smell. Also, we cannot get wine glasses for our bottle of wine. We ended up have to use the coffee cup or just drink directly from the bottle. Lastly, somebody need to fix the garden below. It's over grown and there is a hut below with windows and doors half open. And you can see they store junk inside. The only thing we like about the yard at the back are the cats.
The included breakfast was excellent! The room is very clean.

United StatesCheck in was not efficient. Everyone checking into the varied properties showed up at once because no one could check in before 4, which is a very late check in to begin with. We waited in a small office with many others for almost 45 minutes. The staff of 2 were good but could only do so much. Additionally, when booking it was not made clear where our room would be. As it turns out we were further up the hill about 100 yards from the main hotel and office, and down steps by a restaurant. The room was quite small with little room to put luggage.
The biggest benefit is that you stay out on the island, but the crowds, even in off-season were staggering.

AustraliaThe curtains in room looked to be dirty.. the teraline had black marks on it. Shower leaked a bit - needs new seal on door and silicone along the join of screen and door base! For the money they get a bit of maintenance would spruce things up. The linen bags left in hallways surely a cupboard could be used looks untidy.
Was a bit tricky finding the room as an annex and up from reception. The instructions not as clear - maybe due to language barrier. Room bit bigger than I thought and we had a window overlooking the bay which was nice. Bathroom very compact and getting in and out of shower could be challenging for larger people as door only opens less thsn 1/2... Right in centre and walking to restaurants and points of interest at door step. Breakfast was nice and staff friendly and cheerful.
