Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgWhere do I begin? Let's start with the condition of the houses - they definitely need some refurbishment. It seems like there hasn't been much investment in maintenance since they were first built. There were a number of broken things, but the main issue was the overall cleanliness. The houses were quite dusty, with spider webs and even spiders all over the place. This is likely due to the lack of mosquito nets on any of the windows. Without air conditioning, you have to keep the windows open, which allows all sorts of insects to get inside. My kids were initially afraid of the spiders, but they eventually got used to the smaller ones after a few days. I also had to fix the sliding doors on the terrace, as they were off the track and couldn't be properly closed and locked. And there was also an ant problem, which is understandable given the forest location, but could probably be better managed with some treatment. Overall, with a bit of investment to address these issues, this could be a much better location. But as it stands, the lack of upkeep and the insect problem detracted from the otherwise great setting, nestled in the forest with easy access to the lake and beach.
The location of the accommodation was excellent, nestled within a forest, with a short walk to the lake and easy car access to the nearby beach. The swimming pool, although small, was sufficient for a refreshing dip on a hot day. The property also had a small bar that served some hot food, and you could order fresh bread for the next morning. Overall, the location was great, but there are a few things I would like to highlight

IrelandWas not clear that check in was at 5pm, tried phoning and phoning when we arrived at a closed reception at 2pm. No answer. Lack of air conditioning was problematic and made nights uncomfortably hot.
Location in the woods, near town with lake but also near beach. Staff were lovely too and the pizza night was good value. Very happy with our stay.

IrelandNot so much a dislike, but guests should be aware that while the cabins have basics included (bed linen, pots and pans, sweeping brush etc), there's a dishwasher but no detergent, no towels, teatowels or cloths provided, kettle had to be borrowed from reception with an ID left as security. A security deposit of €150 was also charged, which was not mentioned anywhere in the booking information. Some staff were lovely, but others were much less helpful.
Nice cabin in a shaded woodland area not too far from Maubuisson and the lake and an easy drive to the coast. Reasonable facilities available on site (pool, laundry room etc). Lovely bread and croissants etc available from reception in the morning (need to be ordered the day before). Loved the area in general and the cabins were nice overall just some essentials missing.

United StatesIt's not very well lit the entire area. I have never been there before, nore is my French great to ask anyone. There are several communities in that pine forest so it was really hard to find....I basically looked at photos from my booking and tried to find the right housing complex. Thanks to my car-GPS navigator I did eventually.... However it's pitch dark there, be sure to arrive at day light it will greatly decrease your time looking for your vacation cabin.
I liked the easy off hours check in . I got there later after reception had closed already , they just left a table out in front with an envelope and my name on it. Which i luckily figured out !

SpainUnfortunately, the accommodation didn’t quite meet my expectations. The houses have potential, but they are in need of refurbishment and more consistent maintenance. It feels like not much has been updated since they were first built. The main issue was cleanliness. The first bungalow I was given was very humid, likely due to being closed for a while. I appreciated that the staff offered me another one, but unfortunately, it also hadn’t been properly cleaned beforehand – there was quite a bit of dust, spider webs, and some insects. Another thing to be aware of: there’s no proper ventilation, and no mosquito nets. If you're uncomfortable sleeping with windows open due to mosquitos or wildlife, the heat at night can be quite uncomfortable. Internet is only available near the pool and reception area, so don’t rely on having Wi-Fi in the house. If you’re looking for very simple accommodation and are okay with a rustic, back-to-basics kind of experience, this place might work for you. But personally, I was hoping for a bit more charm and comfort. One more thing: I read similar reviews beforehand and saw the standard response from management: "We’re taking your comments into account to improve..." Clearly, that isn’t happening — nothing has changed.
I wouldn’t return to this place, as it lacked the charm and comfort I look for during a holiday. The staff was genuinely friendly, and the location is ideal if you have a car or a bicycle – surrounded by nature and with easy access to the region.
