Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe stayed during a heat wave and the air conditioning in our room was insufficient to keep us comfortable.
It was easy to explore Avignon using this B&B as a home base. The train station was walkable. We took a quick taxi to visit a nearby town and returned from that town on the train. Our room was clean, nicely decorated and spacious. The hosts were lovely - informative and helpful.

Olivier was an amazing host, throughly explained the lay of the land, gave us great suggestions and even got us situated with parking which in busy Avignon was like gold !

United StatesThere was nothing to dislike!
Everything was incredible! From the start our hosts were absolutely amazing. Olivier really took the time to explain the area, help us with any questions we had, and made us feel extremely welcome. He even has a passion for sustainability, which we appreciated. Olivier even helped us find a last minute tour with his friend Gordana (who is actually the top rated tour in Avignon!). The gardens were beautiful and I really appreciated the art everywhere. Rooms were very comfortable and well decorated. In the morning we had fresh croissants and pain au chocolat brought in with fresh fruit. Coffee was accessible all day. This is what vacation should feel like! I can’t recommend this place enough and I want to plan a trip back to Avignon just to stay here again. An absolute gem!!!

The property was a hidden gem. The entrance was quaint with flowers by the front door. We were greeted immediately by name and shown around the property with details of possible itineraries. They included breakfast with fresh bread jam juice and espresso! I would highly recommend and will be back again to stay here in Avignon!!

United Arab EmiratesThe walk up three floors to our room and no AC at the time we visited. They said that they do change the heating to AC in summer. No black out curtains so light tends to fill the room once the sun rises.
Oliver has to be the biggest positive about the property. The property is very cosy and has a lovely backyard. There are a lot of good restaurants close by. It’s situated in the old town and the popes palace is a 10 min walk. The parking provided by Oliver was reasonably priced and close to the property. He also has a lot of suggestions and recommendations and offered to do a lot of our booking for us.

United KingdomIts was autumn when we visited and getting dark early. We wondered if the lighting in the bedroom could be improved?
Exceptionally friendly staff/owners. Quiet and central location. Easy to get taxis from TGV station and walkable to central station. Boutique B&B with lovely decor, rooms and breakfast. There is a lovely shady garden which would be great during summer and hot periods.

AustraliaOlivier is a fantastic host providing excellent recommendations and taking a real interest in our travels. We had the most stunning suite on the top level looking out onto the garden. It was extremely large and roomy, stylishly decorated with an extremely comfortable bed. It is obvious that a lot of care and detail has been taken in renovating this beautiful property and it was a real privilege to stay here. Staying here was one of the highlights of our 5 week European trip.

AustraliaMosquitoes were a pest but we were given excellent repellent 👍
Our three days at Les Jardins de Maracane were absolutely perfect. Staying in the Babylone suite on the third floor was such a treat, with its lovely views over the rooftops and the peaceful garden below. Even though we were close to everything, it felt like a hidden oasis, and we cherished coming back each afternoon to unwind by the pool in the private, serene gardens. Aicha, our wonderful hostess, made our stay extra special. She was warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Her daily chats and care really made us feel at home—nothing was ever too much trouble for her. The house cat, Minette was a constant joy curling up next to us each morning at breakfast ( and we are not normally cat people 😊)

Hong KongThe premises were exactly what embodies French flair and European romanticism. It was very beautiful especially the garden area. The host Olivier was superb in making us feel good right at home with his charm, wit, knowledge and also went out of his way to make sure we got to our train safely and quickly on the day of our departure.

AustraliaThere was nothing to dislike about this gorgeous property!
Absolutely everything! Les Jardins de Baracane is an exceptional place to stay in the heart of the old town. During an extremely hot week, the beautiful tropical gardens and pool were a welcome respite and after a day exploring, returning to the peace and tranquillity of the BnB was an absolute joy. What really makes this place extra special are its hosts, Laurence and Olivier. They are friendly, obliging, caring and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Olivier constantly checked on us to make sure we were comfortable and he was always up for a chat. When our train to Paris got cancelled at the last minute and we were in panic mode, Laurence and Olivier swung into action, quietly reassuring us that they would sort things out for us, which they did by booking us on a later train. We couldn’t have been more grateful!

AustraliaThe narrow stairs can be a bit of a challenge, especially on a hot day….. but that goes with the authenticity of the property…. So it’s more of a warning than a criticism.
The gardens and the atmosphere of a 17 century house were outstanding. Laurence and Olivier were the most wonderful hosts and the location of the property within the walls of the old city made everywhere of interest a short walk away.

Laurence and Olivier were so welcoming and amazingly helpful - helping us book restaurants, a cooking class and sort transportation. We felt really welcomed from the start. The guest house (well located in the heart of the town) really is as beautiful and relaxing as the photos online suggest - with a lush oasis of a garden and tasteful rooms to rest in. A really perfect home from home.
