Stunning hotel in great location

Rooms are on the small side. The breakfast service was slow. Table don’t get cleared during breakfast. The service was inconsistent. One morning I was offered a fried egg ( I was struggling with the egg boiler) the other day I was turned down by another staff member.

Location was superb. The peace and quiet. Such tranquility. The views were lovely. Beautiful grounds. Intimate atmosphere.

Nothing!

Great location, Really peaceful and calm but just a short distance from Benodet and all its facilities. We loved the free bike hire and electric vehicle charging which was really convenient. A fantastic stay overall.

A few negative experiences put a real damper on the stay. There’s no restaurant and the breakfast is absurdly expensive for what they offer (we had it on our last day and were very glad we didn’t have it the other days). The hotel is quite far from everything so it’s a slightly long walk or quick bike or car ride to get to restaurants. We had coffees at the hotel on all the other days though their coffee machine didn’t taste nice. There is only one hook in the bathroom so we had to layer towels. The towel heater wouldn’t work either. They lend electric bikes on request which was perfect for us but some of the bikes are clearly needing to be maintained better. One properly screamed any time we use the brakes and another had a basket that didn’t hold despite us checking several times. It fell when we were locking up the bikes and broke my partner’s phone. They didn’t even have a word of apology when I told them, just that we could have used different bikes which is useless since we were already gone and the damage was done.

The hotel itself is gorgeous, inside and outside areas are a pleasure to enjoy. The spa was very nice, pools were great especially since the outside one and the hot tub which were heated and comfortable despite the weather being a bit cold. Room was pretty though quite small, especially the bathroom.

If we'd been staying longer the option of dinner would have been great.

A gorgeous hotel with beautiful rooms and wonderful facilities. We immediately jumped on bikes from the hotel and went down to the bay for lunch. The staff were incredible and created a lovely atmosphere whilst also catering to our every need. Breakfast was delicious and lengthy. They very kindly booked us a spot for dinner which was beautiful with delicios food. We felt renewed after just one night.

The location of the hotel is beautiful, gorgeous park, u can take an easy walk to the sea. The breakfast was just right, the room was small but nicely decorated. All and all, I would recommend "Les Garennes".

I couldn't think of a thing.

I liked everything about the property: The old nostalgic castle paired with modern equipment and a wonderful sense of interior design. Each room was a piece of art and you fell instantly at home. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and shown everything directly by the crew. I should feel at home, they said. This was not just a phrase, it was really so. So a hostess organized without further ado that I could have a massage (although this should have been reserved on the day before). In the evening they prepared for me a plate aux charcuterie and offered tea à discretion. I could use the 29 degrees heated pool & Jacuzzi at any time and looked at the same time over the fields to the sailing port of Bénodet. In the morning I was asked if I had slept well and if I would find everything at the breakfast buffet. I am sure they would have arranged it otherwise. I felt perfectly taken care of and will definitely stop by again.

The distance to Benodet was not an easy walk.

The staff were very friendly and ready to help on all occasions. The breakfast was excellent with many choices. The spa, swimming pool and jacuzzi were wonderful, especially during the chilly evenings. Everywhere was spotlessly clean.

The owner needs to decide if this is a hotel for couples looking to relax or primarily for events. The noise from the events on a weekend can be irritating. The rooms are on the small side. The lack of a restaurant is something that hopefully they will address in the future.

The grounds are beautiful. The heated pool in cool weather was great. The electric bikes provided make benodet easily accessible.

I did not understand that they did not offer any food in the evening of our stay. we had cycled a long way to be there and then had to cycle into the nearest town where the food was bad. even if they offered a charcuterie and cheese platter with bread that would’ve been fine. when we got back the hotel was in effect closed.

They don’t let you use the tea/coffee machine during the day, only at breakfast. This seems pointlessly petty. You have a kettle and coffee machine in your room, but of course no milk/cream or fridge to keep them cool in.
