Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I had a wonderful stay at Les Florentines and can’t recommend it highly enough. I was lucky to have the double room with a terrace, which was even more beautiful than the photos - spacious, with breathtaking views and such a peaceful place to wake up. The room was quiet, comfortable, and generously sized. Frederick was incredly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The location is ideal, on a charming street with several lovely restaurants and just a short walk from the city center. I had an amazing time in Carcassonne and will absolutely return to Les Florentines on my next visit.

AustraliaNothing, it was exceptional.
Our host was very helpful and kind, and prepared the most delicious continental breakfast. He went out of his way to ensure that our needs were met. The property is located on a quaint cobbled street with views of the Medieval City. At night this is especially beautiful. A short walk takes you over the river into town, while a stroll uphill and you are at the main entrance to the medieval city. Our room was on the top floor and very spacious and comfortable, with a private bathroom.

United Kingdomwe like sleeping with the window open, but some late night revellers, a v happy noisy black bird at dawn and then the bin men came early, so had to shut the window so it was v quiet once I shut the window, then we fell into a heavy sleep & it hard to wake up!
Great location and welcome was great. Frederick did everything to get us settled in, with information and help with parking. His breakfast as reported was excellent, fresh fruit (melon, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, grapes), parma ham, cheeses, yogurt, bread, croissant, freshly squeezed orange juice, home made jams, coffee! a fabulous breakfast - a real send off to our day! Also the WiFi was v good, far better than we led to believe!

AustraliaThe room wasn't as we expected. Maybe our expectations were too high? We were expecting a four star hotel. Our room was small and in need of some improvement. Broken floor tiles, and bathroom needs redecorating. No kettle or coffee/ tea making facilities in the room. No fridge/minibar. For the price, we expected better. Only a view of adjacent roof from our top floor window. Maybe other rooms are better decorated and have better views. Steep narrow wooden stairs are not good if you have limited mobility or have big luggage. No lift.
Lovely breakfast. Welcoming host. Close to tourist sites

United StatesSome older travelers might find the narrow winding staircase to the rooms difficult. But my wife and I are in our 60s and we had no difficulty.
Our room was on the very top floor and we had two beautiful balconies to view the city and the castle.

GermanyIdeally located to the old town and with a wonderful view on it from the terrace belonging to our room. Very warm and kind welcome from our host Frederik, who provided us with useful information and surprised us the next morning with breakfast. If available and reserved, private garage place nearby as well as an authentic restaurant with good food and kind staff.

United StatesThe picture on the website was amazing - not what we experienced. Partly weather, partly I didn't know only the top floor might have had a view of the castle/medieval city. Still, just around the corner to get there.
Excellent host, great to have breakfast included! Accommodated our extra bag and helped with parking/unloading, carried my bag upstairs. Easy to drive to and instructions for parking were spot-on.

United KingdomBoth the room and bathroom are a little tired and could benefit from a decorative refresh. It is also sparsely furnished for a big room - a dressing table and bedsides would improve it.
We were on a short visit to Carcassonne to attend a concert in the old city- the the property was perfectly located being ten minutes' walk away. It is a very old building on a characterful street with a restaurant next door. Our host Frederick was great, giving us a map and helpful advice on how to get to the venue, serving us a lovely fresh continental breakfast in the morning and arranging a taxi to get us back to the airport. The room itself was spacious, the bed comfortable and the ensuite adequate. We didn't use the small single bed which was more of a couch. The windows opened onto the street which is quiet with little traffic. There is an air con unit which worked well to cool the room before sleeping.

Les Florentines is in a great location, close to the medieval city and the owner provides a very good breakfast. Parking can be organised for an additional fee and is close to the house. There is a restaurant next door which has excellent quality, reasonably priced food.

United StatesWe booked the top floor room with double terrace. The view is stunning! We loved just relaxing on the lounge chairs and admiring the view! Frederick is also very helpful with directions to sights, restaurants and parking our car. He told us that his home has been in his family for 5 generations. It's really well maintained. He served us a wonderful breakfast with fruit, meat, cheese, bread, croissants, jams and juice. The next time we are in the area we will for sure stay here.

United KingdomThis place is fab and not an issue for us but be aware of slim spiral staircase if you have mobility issues. The staircase is actually beautiful and no issue for us.
The terraces were really great, the one overlooking the medieval castle was just spectacular. The room was very clean and all amenities were very good. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Lovely prepared selection of cheese and ham, and fruit, along with orange juice jams bread croissants. My husband said the croissants and bread were delicious and so fresh. I am gluten free, and the host, Frederick went to 2 shops to try to find suitible bread, which was very kind. I had researched and understood gf products to be very rare in all of carcassonne, so had taken my own, and would advise others to do this. Frederick is a very good host, professional friendly helpful. The location is very good, on a street with some bars restaurants, and under 10 minutes walk to the medieval cite. I would definately recommend, and hopefully stay again. One thing to note, is that as the building is very old with beautiful spiral stair cases, to get the room with the terraces there are a lot of windy steps. We were fine with this but not suitable for those with mobility issues. Book it's, you'll love it!

United KingdomFrederick is a great host, he will make sure that you have a good stay. Communication was very good, he's also very informative and he makes a fantastic breakfast. The location couldn't be better. Few good restaurants nearby, walking distance to the medieval town and the old bridge, we also walked to city centre, the canal and the train station.. We've booked the "Florentines" room on 2nd floor with 2 terraces. It's a bit more expensive than the other rooms but well worth it. The room itself is very comfortable, the bed is big, the shower is spacious with good pressure and temperature. There are radiators so you can set your preferred room temperature. Hairdryer and shower gel provided. Much recommended 🙂

Our room was a good size and very nicely decorated. We opted out of upgrading our room, but we’re give. The opportunity. The bathroom was good. We only stayed one night, however, Frederick, the owner, couldn’t have been more helpful in answering questions that we had. He was an awesome morning breakfast waiter, as well! A very positive aspect to this property is that it’s within walking distance from the Carcassonne Castle. We were warm and comfortable and very pleased with this facility.
