Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsHell. Rooms are not clean. No bed linnen. No towels. No cleaning products. Room infested with 2k Tick Nymphs Pet friendly hotels are criminal. We were eaten alive by thousands of nymph ticks that were hidden in the head board of the bed and attaked us at 2 am. They hitch hiked with us back home and are difficult to get rid off. We found even two mature ticks in our car. One we could kill but the other one we took notice off only after it bit me. Once home I got bitten by a nymph as well that survived the lugguage quarantine. I got acute Lyme disease and am on medication. Lost income as I had to take days off. Avoid room E07 at any cost in the summer of 2024 as it is infested. By our other Vacanceole in Agde region Dune, we got invaded by ants. But that is survivabel. Bedbugs, fleas and ticks are a true plague. Please avoid at any cost! Nymphs and fleas are small and very contagious. You cannot have an easy time fighting a holiday imfestation. Bedbugs are also all over France. Including in good hotels. Avoid.

IrelandVery uncomfortable beds(!), rather small and very crowded swimming pool with not enough sunbeds (the sunbeds that were there were broken), only one toilet in the aparatament although two bathrooms advertised, afterhours hotel emergency lines not working, we arrieved when the reception was closed (reception closed all day Wednesday), there was no email advising us on the gate code nor key locker code, if not for the help one of the guests, we would not get in for the night! No breakfast available if not enough guests have booked it a night before. Patio isn't very private, although divided from the neighbouring apts it was very much open to the front, which was a public space (small square with sidewalks). AC was available in the option we went for, but it was only in the living room and one of the bedrooms. Kids bedroom (with bunk beds) had no AC.
Apartaments very clean and spacious enough. Kichenette well equipped. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomWe arrived here at 11am on the morning of our stay to see if we could leave our suitcases before the 5pm check-in. We were told that we could not so had a look around before planning to return to check-in. There was a woman sitting in the middle of the communal area drinking from a bottle of red wine clearly on drugs and acting very strangely. We also passed one room on the ground floor where people were fighting. We did not feel safe this was a safe place for our family with 2 young children to stay, so we did not check in and had to then drive around to find another hotel with availability in late July. Booking.com offered us no assistance to find another hotel, and when this property refused to refund us, booking.com offered us a paltry £25 compensation towards the £160 unrefundable price we had already paid. This was a really stressful experience when it should have been a relaxing first night of our holiday. We would not recommend this accommodation based on what we viewed just walking through it.
Nothing.

Irelandcommunication
the apartment was ok . we only stayed there couple of hours, because check in was only from 5pm.and then we were gone out for the night. The bad think was a lack of communication. before our arrival I was trying to contact property sending couple of messages with the questions about our check inn I didn’t get any responses at all.so the evening we arrived at the apartment the gate were closed. Tried to call the phone number no answer just answering machine..I didn’t have any information about PIN codes nothing . so we been waiting 10 min outside the gate while random person came out. very nice man helped us to get the keys from out apartment . they were left in black box outside with the codes again but we didn’t have a clue about the code number.
