Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This is one of Bordeaux’s most charming secrets — Les Chambres d’Art, a boutique bed & breakfast housed in a honey-toned 19th-century townhouse. A stay here doesn’t just tick boxes — it elevates your visit into something personal and memorable.

United StatesIn the middle of the City Center is this nice little Appartement, well equipped and beautifully furnished. When we arrived, we found homemade confiture, fresh drinks and everything we needed for our first breakfast. The Appartement is run by Bruno who lives next door and invited us for drinks and gave us a lot of helpful advice for our stay. It was an amazing stay and we would definitely stay there again!

United KingdomWe had a wonderful stay at Les Chambres D'Art with Bruno and Marion. Bruno is an absolute joy to talk to, a great communicator who knows everything about the local area and Bordeaux. His recommendations for restaurants and activities are well worth following. Breakfast is a joy with fruit, (his own special yoghurt and cream cheese), fresh orange juice, croissant, ham and cheese and baguette. We were happy to discuss our plans with Bruno and Marion over delicious coffee. We could not have wanted more and are happy to recommend Les Chambres d'Art to other travellers.

Our host Bruno served a very tasty continental breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh croissants and baguette every morning. He also gave us helpful recommendations about neighborhood restaurants as well as sightseeing in and around Bordeaux.

I stayed at Les Chambres d'Art during my trip to Bordeaux and I really enjoyed it. It is located just about 10 minutes away from the train station which was very convenient for me. I had a nicely decorated, spacious and cosy room. The breakfast was delicious. Also, I want to thank the host Bruno, a wonderful and kind person who made me feel welcome at his house and gave very good advice about what to do in Bordeaux.

United KingdomThe location was good for accessing the old quarter and there were many good restaraunts within walking distance. Our room was lovely, being spacious, clean and comfortable. The only minor downside was that our private bathroom was across the corridor. However we were given bath robes and the facilities in the bathroom were excellent. Our breakfast each morning was great and the host, Bruno, made us feel very welcome. Would definately recommend.

United KingdomDifficult to find space to fully open our suitcase. No shampoo provided, but we used the shower gel for both purposes - would recommend you bring your own hair products if you are particular about this. Sliding door of shower/toilet room took some getting used to, but unavoidable to fit in the space here.
Bruno was an amazing, kind and friendly host who made this stay perfect for us. He went out of his way to accommodate our late arrival (mitigating the stress of our train being cancelled) and early departure, providing a really good breakfast (excellent hot chocolate, coffee, croissants, jams and bread etc.). He also gave us really good advice on what to see, and directions on the best route to get there. This made our stay really relaxing. The room also had very good air conditioning which was most welcome in the heat wave. The bed was exceptionally comfortable so we slept really well. This house is beautiful and spacious with lots of original features, and with two guest rooms, you really feel you have personalised attention and a tranquil experience. Location is convenient for station as well as the main attractions in the centre, very nice old street.

United StatesBruno was extremely hospitable and accommodating. The room was clean and charming. The house was lovely. He welcomed us with beer and wine when we arrived after our long travel from the USA. He took our bag upstairs. He only has 2 rooms, so we were able to leave our bags in the room for late check out. Our stay was lovely!

I stayed at Les Chambres d'Art for 5 nights and it was absolutely fantastic. Bruno and his wife were so nice and incredibly helpful with all my questions about where to go and what to do. It is a beautiful place to stay and you have your own space away from the main home so you don't feel as though you are intruding at all and you have plenty of privacy. Bordeaux is a lovely city to explore although it was extremely hot while I was there but there are still many things to do to get a break from the heat. My air conditioned room was a massive comfort at the end of the day! I just have to say a big thank you to Bruno for his hospitality. He goes above and beyond and anyone visiting Bordeaux should definitely stay here. The other thing to mention is that the location is perfect for the train station and for getting around the city either on foot or with the tram. Super easy to walk around!
