Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaThe single ac unit doesn’t quite reach the bedroom.
Exceptionally well thought out apt. A car can come up to the door which is not the case everywhere. The hosts even kept a bottle of Provence wine for us.

AustraliaThe floor was dirty all the time, don't walk around in bare feet as the dirty seems to accumulate especially during hot dry weather. Taxi drivers are hard to come by and parking is a complete pain at times.
Loved that the owner met us at the door to get in to the facility. The room was exceptional, just loved it. The owner gave us a lot of valuable advice around things to do. Inside the castle walls this is located within walking distance of everything worth seeing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, we will be back.

AustraliaNothing.
Great quiet location yet in very close proximity to shops, restaurants and attractions. The apartment is not only comfortable, clean and convenient but includes many extras provided by the host. The host was also amazingly generous with local knowledge, including surrounding areas. She was happy to share good restaurant experiences along with her own personal historical connection to the property. A great personal touch to this apartment; thank you Laure.

United StatesMaybe the pillows were a bit hard but I have experienced that while here in France at various apartments. It's a bit deserted in November but that is just the time of year. If you come during the tourist season you will be glad you are here. It's close to everything yet in a quiet area within the walled city.
The apartment and its amenities- kitchen, bathroom, living room, etc, were excellent and charming. Every detail was thought out and the towel warmer was wonderful as it rained and was cold in November. Just a few minutes away is a grocery store, the Palais du Pope, stores, restaurants and the river as well as the old bridge. There is a school nearby so it's nice to see all the students come and go. The towels were quality as was the bedding. Lots of espresso coffee pods were available and the washing machine worked well. If we go to Avignon in the future I would stay there again. Our host went above and beyond, helping us get a taxi back to the train station and making sure we had everything we needed. The apartment is very unique and nice as well as secure.

United StatesLaure and Olivier met us personally to show us the apartment and explain its many features. They then offered us three parking options and escorted us to the parking lot and drove us back to the apartment. The apartment is prettier than the photos online - airy and bright. The layout is smart, open, and convenient - doesn't feel at all crowded. The lighting and stone work are beautiful as well as authentic. The wi-fi and A/C worked perfectly. I enjoyed their Nespresso coffee maker with my favorite flavors each morning. The bathroom was roomy with plenty of storage and lighting, nice towels. The soaps and fragrances were wonderful. Laure sent us additional restaurant recommendations and beautiful places to see around Avignon. It is abundantly clear that Laure and Olivier take great pride in their apartment and their hometown. They made us feel very welcomed and helped us get our bearings on our first trip to the Provence region. Our favorite activities were a tour of the Pope's Palace, a wine tasting, a trip to Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Pont du Gard, dinner at Sevin's, and a cooking class with Jonathan at Les Halles. We highly recommend Le Secret as a place to explore and fall in love with Avignon.

CanadaThere would be only two downsides. One is that the bed is very, very firm. Since our bed at home is a soft top, we were not used to it being so hard. The second is that a high school is across the street so at very select times of week days it can get a bit noisy (although we didn't experience anything of particular issue we arrived on a Friday afternoon when school was ending and only stayed the weekend)...but this is a minor point as a guest would most likely not be there at those times anyway.
Laure, the property owner, was wonderful. She greeted us warmly, providing us with a brief history of the property (which is quite interesting) and offered tons of assistance to make our stay in Avignon that much better. The property, on the ground floor, is incredibly well appointment and would be considered one of the nicest apartments we have stayed it...it was clearly decorated with love and attention. The location is excellent being less than 15 minutes walk from any of the attractions or shopping areas in Avignon proper. Certainly a worthwhile location to stay in.

GermanyA few things made this not an ideal choice for us personally. We chose an apartment vs. Hotel to have the freedom to stay in the evenings. The kitchen, even if beautifully fitted, is small and makes it not comfortable to sit to eat in the table. The living room has nor tv to watch while sitting neither dining space. The apartment does not have much light being on ground floor. Windows facing the street not allowing to open blinds and curtains. Public parking is 15 mins walk. This is however an issue at most accommodations if you decide to stay inside the townwalls. Ultimately we felt again, for our needs, it did not fully met our expectations. But again beautifully decorated and super friendly hosts, and some other people may feel it fits their needs.
The Apartment was tastefully decorated as shown in the photos. The property owners were very helpful and welcoming. The bathroom and kitchen were well with all necessary amenities. 10 mins walk from all attractions inside the walls.
